been reading up on it, sounds quite a cool 'religion' or maybe philosophy is a better word, really reminds me of the Sith from star wars though, how weird is that? not sure about the magic thing though... i mean it kind of contradicts the rest of the system... anyways, any satanists out there want to talk a little about their beliefs? (by the way, before i get called the antichrist or whatever, satanism has nothing at all to do with devil worship or blood sacrifices or anything, read up on it before you post anything like that)

I'm a Satanist, LeVayan specifically. You'd have to be a bit more specific about what you'd want to know. You may of course email or IM me via my profile.

No, it is not 'do whatever you like'. There is a strict morality of respect built into it. To counter point it, however, there is a strong admonition to crush anyone who does not show you respect.
For example, rules 3 & 4 compliment each other --
"3. When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there. "
"4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy. "
These rules tell us that a person's home is his castle. His word is LAW within his home. If you will not abide it, then you should not be there, and if someone will not abide yours, they should not be there. If it is someone you otherwise respect, you ask them to leave. If it is someone you don't respect anyways, you FORCE them to leave. If you are ever asked to leave a place, you leave or should not be surprised or offended when the owner of the place forces you to leave in kind.
Respect is, of course, a two way street.

If it has nothing to do with "Satan" why even call it "Satanism?" Ashley, please understand that they make it sound cool to suck you in. My heart just aches when I see you posting that you think it's "cool". Also, why would you be interested in something that contradicts itself? Can you really look at a beautiful sunset or a newborn baby and believe that anything other than a creator is responsible? If you can look at those things and believe that it all came from muck or a big bang, then nothing I say will have any impact on you anyway.
The last thing I want to do is offend you but I have to tell you that I believe there is a very real heaven and a very real hell. I know there is a God, he has moved so many times in my life. I have also felt his power very strongly several times and it is unlike anything else you'll ever experience--so much love.
My concern for you is that you spend an eternity in hell. The Bible is very clear that there is only one way to heaven for us and that is through Jesus Christ. Don't get mad at me. I didn't write it, but I do believe it. Hell is a horrible place. It isn't fun and cute like they show in some of the Hollywood movies. You aren't going to enjoy it because you worshipped Satan. He is a liar, he is the father of lies. Why would he tell you the truth? Yes, he wants your soul, but God created your soul. He knows every raunchy thought you've ever had (and we all have them) and he knows everything you've ever done. But he still loves you. Bad things happen and I won't lie, I'm not sure why some things happen. But I do know that God can turn any situation for good.
Ashley, I know you probably don't want it, but I'm going to pray for you. I hope that you will search your heart and search deeper than just reading about Satanism. I recommend that you read some of Bob Larson's books on this topic. He's a little odd and asks for money too much on his radio program, but he's done some solid research.
I recommend reading some of the following sites in addition to the other reading you've been doing. Then, I recommend that you take out the Bible and read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Don't start with the old testament stuff at first. Some of it is very confusing. All you need to know are in those first four chapters for the purposes of comparing the religions.
Know that God loves you, very much. He wishes for NONE--no not one--to perish. In fact, John 3:16 tells us that "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have life everlasting." What has Satan done for anyone? He sure hasn't given that type of sacrifice.
The Bible is very clear on occult practices. It says:
Deuteronomy 18:10-13; "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD..."
You are in my thoughts and prayers along with anyone else who reads this and is thinking about turning to Satanism.

ok, you have of course been listening to the Christians for somewhat too long... Satanists do no longer worship the devil. in any respect. They worship devil, yet of their faith devil skill power, so relatively the full Satanism factor is approximately self empowerment. no longer worshipping the devil or attempting to enhance the ineffective or sacrificing livestock of any sort. Satanism is an atheist faith (an oxymoron, i understand), and as such Satanists have not got faith in God or the devil, so they are in a position to't be against him. See what i'm asserting?!?!

The spoils of war are the writing of history. I wonder what the real history is regarding satan. There was a great war in heaven.

ever read up on Crowley and Thelema ? Email me if your interested anyway or you want to chat
Do what thou will shall be the whole of the law
Duty to Self: essentially describes the self as the center of the universe, with a call to learn about one's inner nature. Further, every Thelemite is to develop every faculty in a balanced way, establish one's autonomy, and to learn and do one's True Will.
Duty to Others: A Thelemite is called to eliminate the illusion of separateness between oneself and all others, to fight when necessary, to avoid interfering with the Wills of others, to enlighten others when needed, and to recognize the divine nature of all other beings. Further, it is noble to relieve the suffering of others, but pity (seen as condescending) should be avoided.
Duty to Mankind: Thelemites should try to establish the Law of Thelema as the sole basis of conduct. Further, the laws of the land should have the aim of securing the greatest liberty for all individuals. Crime is viewed from the point of view of violating one's True Will ("Thus, murder restricts his right to live; robbery, his right to enjoy the fruits of his labour; coining, his right to the guarantee of the state that he shall barter in security; etc.").
Duty to All Other Beings and Things: Quite simply: "It is a violation of the Law of Thelema to abuse the natural qualities of any animal or object by diverting it from its proper function" and "The Law of Thelema is to be applied unflinchingly to decide every question of conduct."

Yeah, I dunno... I mean, I understand what they're getting at, but I just don't see the point. Why have a religion around rebellion against a bad religion? That's like having a political system that's not specifically great itself, it's just anti-Communist.
Instead of forming your philosophy around opposition to another one, I say write it from scratch.
