In choosing a place to live, what would you be more willing to give up and why?

1. Would you give up AWESOME schools (knowing you'd still be close to "good" schools)

2. Would you give up being 30 minutes to 1 hour closer to your friends and family?

3. Would you give up the chance to be minutes away from many great outdoor recreation activities, like hiking, camping, fishing, etc? (In exchange for being 30 minutes away from these things)

4. Would you give up the possibility of NEVER having to move your family again.

5. Or would you give up the opportunity to be minutes away from some of the country's best skiing? (In exchange for living 1 - 2 hours away)

My husband and I have differing opinions about what to give up in choosing a place to settle down. Just wondering what other people think.

Well it's easier for me to tell you what I wouldn't give up. The better schools and being close to the family I feel are the more important factors of what you have listed here. The others seem to be more recreational and if you are going on a 'trip' what is a few extra minutes. Your childs education and your family are what;s important.

I Don't think I would give up good schools if I have kids. I would not give up being close to family because in case of emergency this comes in handy. I can afford to give up the recreation places and the skiing thing. but stick to the rest of your list. Good luck with the moving.

Personally I could live without skiing...that is something that can be done on occasion whereas schools, friends/family, recreation are all important daily activities
