Auditing - a form of psychotherapy during which the "audited" holds 2 tin cans connected to a machine that can read the electrical resistance of skin. The "auditor" then interprets the fluctuations of the electrical resistance in order to determine if the "audited" is "clearing" themselves of their "engrams" (to be defined in a moment)
Criminon - a Scientology organization which aspires to rehabilitating mentally ill and drug addicted criminals by disseminating Scientology literature and employing common Scientology "techniques" while denying the EXISTENCE of mental illness.
Engram - an unconscious negative memory or emotion stored in the "reactive mind". Scientology places considerable emphasis on isolating them & neutralizing their ill effects. This is supposedly accomplished through "auditing" (defined above).
Freewinds - a cruise ship operated by the Church of Scientology. According to Scientology: "The Freewinds is a very special place. It is the one place on this planet that a Scientologist can go and be certain that he will be able to devote all of his attention to his religious practice..."
Gold Base - the headquarters of the Scientology media division located in Gilman Hot Springs, California.
Lafayette Ron Hubbard - the science fiction writer and "prophet" of Scientology. Creator of "Dianetics", denouncer of psychiatry and psychotropic drugs, and also found with the anti-anxiety drug hydroxyzine in his system during autopsy which several of his assistants would later attest was only one of many psychiatric & pain medications Hubbard ingested over the years.
Mary Sue Hubbard - L. Ron's wife. Convicted of infiltration, wiretapping, and theft of documents in government offices, the actions ordered by the Scientology program "Operation Snow White".
Mest - matter, energy, space and time, which are (according to Hubbard) the component parts of the physical universe.
Narconon - similar to Criminon, though it focuses on drug rehabilitation for anyone, not just criminals. It relies heavily on massive doses of vitamins and lengthy sauna sessions to "cure" the addicted. They claim a moderately high success rate, though at least one website critical of Narconon claims that the rates were as low as 6.6% in the case of a Swedish research study.
Operating Thetan - Scientology doctrine states that a person who has achieved the state of Operating Thetan is essentially a being able to operate free of the encumbrances of the material universe. There are several levels of "OT". Currently there is OT 1 through OT 8. OT 3 is known as the "Wall of Fire" (to be defined in a moment).
Emeter - the machine used during auditing.
Quentin Hubbard - L. Ron's son. Severely depressed. Committed suicide.
Sea Org - short for Sea Organization. Hubbard's fleet of ships. The crew members each sign a "billion year contract".
Total Freedom - Also known as "The Bridge to Total Freedom". The many steps one needs to progress through in order to move up the hierarchal levels in Scientology. A conservative estimate of the total amount it costs to move all the way "across the bridge" is roughly $360,000
Wall of Fire - level OT 3. The teachings include that we are all filled with the clustered souls of murdered aliens which cause us mental and physical ills and also corrupt our minds with "implants".
Xenu - the evil alien ruler who kidnapped and murdered the aliens referenced in "Wall of Fire". In Scientology doctrine, Xenu is an alien ruler of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of aliens to Earth in DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. Their souls then clustered together and stuck to the bodies of the living, and continue to wreak chaos and havoc today.

There are quite some definitions of Scientology. yet "understanding a thanks to attraction to close" is between the most ordinary. Scientology holds that more desirable know-how is the foremost to more desirable potential and a more desirable existence. So it consists of many approaches of sorting out. as an party, if you're having hassle with a buddy or loved one, you would imagine it stems from something that occurred lately. regardless of the indisputable fact that Scientology has got here upon that that's not really so. at the same time as something takes position, a controversy or dissatisfied or something, what really takes position interior the concepts is that it restimulates previously similar upsets. So all that grief or dissatisfied or anger you experience is basically partly stemming from the present incident. Scientology has suggestions of sorting out what previously incidents those emotions are coming from and at the same time as yo ufind out, the magic is they disapper. Your modern-day dissatisfied develop into really straightforward to resolve. Scientology is the basically faith that would not allow you to recognize what is going on. It anticipate you in searching out for your self. it truly is why we are not so keen on drugs or different practices which circumvent someone from accomplishing more desirable know-how.

There are a number of sites with information on Scientology. I have listed two below.
If you are asking out of curiosity, I'd recommend starting with the South Park episode. If you are considering joining, as a devout atheist, I have to say that accepting Jesus makes more sense. Be very careful of involvement in this.
