For weight loss try this:
1. Committment. Don't ever give up... never give up. Don't think of a slip up as failure, just another starting point.
2. Shut your mouth. You don't need to eat all that crap. And its mostly crap isn't it? Most of our problems isn't what we eat... its how much.
3. Get off your butt. You must exercise. Bottom Line: You must burn more calories that you take in.
Eating is a matter of how much you eat... not necessarily what it is. Find a site that will show you serving sizes. When you read labels, those numbers are "per serving" not the whole container. See that picture over there <<<< its my "I lost 80 pounds grin."
Good Luck!

Sounds like you need to have a Hemoglobin done and see what your last 6 month Blood sugar averaged. The protein factor in your kidneys would suggest you cut down on meats peanuts and peanut products. Keeping the carbs down is easy, eat less, exercise more and stay off the breads and pastry's, eat foods that sustain your diet and not deplete it.

You should make an appointment with a dietitian. Sounds like you may already be diabetic, and some insurances will cover a consult visit to get you on the right track. Lifestyle changes such as this one take a lot encouragement and a dietitian can create a suitable and realistic meal plan for you. Just look in the phonebook :)

Check out some of the websites for diabetics to get some helpful information as to diet. There are some really great ones that can help you. Eat smaller meals instead of 3 regular size ones.

I had to do the whole 'lower your protein' thing because of kidney issues. Make sure that you don't deprive yourself of the foods that you do like. It'll make you crave them more. Its all about portion control. A little goes a long way. I just do like the French. They eat alot slower than us in the US and they enjoy every bite of food they take in.
