you need to heal your heart from the past break up, tell him to give you time, he'll understand, and he cares for you, he'll wait for you, i wish you both the best. =0)

It wouldn't be good for you OR him to go into a relationship right after a breakup. Tell him how you feel but stay friends for a little while. If you still both want to be together in a few weeks or months (when it feels right) then go for it!
