If you have ever had one of these horrible things then you know what I am going through. My question is, does it hurt when you get the stuffing out after it has been lanced. This is my third time haveing one but my first time getting it stuffed. I am going to try and get scheduled for the surgery after they take the stuffing out. So please let me know something quick.

From what I can gather, it is painful to remove the gauze especially the first night after surgery.

I had one for years. I finally went to the ER one evening when I couldn't stand up straight. The Dr. did a minor surgery, just a shot of some kind of numbing agent...a little cut, and I haven't had a problem in 15+ yrs. The longer you put it off..the worse it will get, and the more extensive the surgery will have to be. I don't know if you've read about these "monsters" but they put out feelers that can eventually wrap themselves around your spine. Do yourself a favor and have it taken care of.
