I've gone to the doctor and he suggested that it might be allergies, but I don't seem to get relief from nasal spray or allergy medication. I have tried hydrogen peroxide, warmed up olive oil, and cleaning out my ears with q-tips and none of it has seemed to help (in fact, it kind of makes it worse). I have no ear PAIN, although i have noticed that if i touch the back of my throat on the right side with my tongue (the side where my ear feels clogged) it is sensitive and the clogged feeling gets worse. Yes, the clogged feeling is only in one ear. the doc ran tons of hearing tests and looked at my ears and said they look fine. i've looked this question up and saw that tmj was a possibility but i really don't ever experience jaw problems...so what the hell is this clogged feeling that persists, and, more importantly, what can I do about it?

it's definitely not an ear infection because i have seen two doctors - they would have noticed if it was infected.

My advice would be to keep seeing doctors about this problem and look up your symptoms on the internet. If that doesnt work, then well... you're screwed! :(

I don't know where you live, or what type of wax removal you've tried, but here's a sure fire way that's really inexpensive and will give you some relief. Let your fingers do the walking and call a few health food type stores to see if they sell any "Ear Candles". It's a hollow candle, some made out of a thin wax, others from bees wax, etc. Ask them how much they are. The cheap ones do the same thing as the expensive ones, and the cheap ones should be between $1.50 and $2.00. You need to have someone else help you do it, but what will happen is the candle will pull out any infection, and all the wax build up in your ear and further into the ear canal (the part you can't see). After you do this (takes about 20 minutes give or take), the hollow candle will have either a lot of ear wax or white infection goop in it. After "candling" your ear, you should feel at least somewhat better. If there was just ear wax in the candle, no worries. If you have white goop, that's infection, in which case you definitely need some antibiotics to clear it up. If you need or want more info - just let me know! Hope it helps!

I experience this sometimes after I have a cold. If I blow out my nose too hard that clogs my ear up for a while, but it usually gets back to normal within a matter of hours. Maybe you're blowing your nose too hard? Also, sometimes if you swim, water may get into your ear and cause that, and it could lead to an ear infection, but there are ear drops out there which take care of it. Good luck to you.

You possibly have an infection in the Eustachion tube of the ear.
This can be caused by an infected sinus and needs treatment. Glue ear is what is commonly seen in these conditions.
There are a number of procedures to combat this, you neeed to get a referal to an E.N.T. Specialist and not play around with it youself.

first off don't use q-tips to clean your ears it just basically pushes the wax deeper in your ear. the peroxide is what i use to clean my ears but basically what you need to do is get a second opinion and go to more drs. there is this thing i have no idea what its called but my dad used it and its shaped like a cone and its kinda made of wax paper and he put the tip in his ear and lit the other end and when it had burnt a while he pulled it out of his ear and the smoke had sucked a LOT of wax out of his ear. and he felt better after that you could probably ask your pharmasist about it but basically you really need to see other doctors and things keep trying to get an answer. but i really think its just drainage from your sinuses. but please see other doctors about it

A lot of times people who have allergies will get fluid build up behind their eardrum (not infection) and this causes you to feel like it is plugged up or have a hard time hearing from that ear. The best treatment would be a decongestant like Claritin D or Pseudophed.

It's just water deposit in the inner recesses of your right ear. Try putting one or two drops of baby oil before you go to sleep. It might come out the first try but if not, keep on applying baby oil.
I experienced that before. Went also to a doctor who made it worse. Almost a month before I used baby oil and it disappears after a few days. Try it and let me know.

Its probably fluid (from allergys). Just ride it out for a little while (sometimes it can even take weeks). There is really nothing you can do about it. If it don't go away in a few weeks you can ask your doctor to recommend you to a ear , nose, and throat doctor.
