This girl says hi to me every day. She once also gave me a ride to my car (1/4 mile) and later I heard her talking about it with a friend of hers.

Ask her out for coffee or lunch. Coffee and lunch are better than dinner and a movie. Dinner and a movie is formal and makes it feel like a date. Start casual and see how she reacts. If she says no, then you know she's not into you. If she says yes, then you can get to know her a little better and hopefully over lunch or coffee she'll give you some signals that you can read a little better. This will also give her the signal that you're into her and want to learn more!
