Years ago, my boyfriend told me that his grown daughter was "kissing his ***" so to speak, because she was greedy for a bigger chunk of inheritance money than her siblings would get. Now, when I mention the subject, he completely denies ever having said that. I'm confused.

Sorry for the typo. I mean to type "say this" and not "so this".

He's afraid he might have to give you the inheritance money or he only said it so you guys can be together since girls go for guys with some cash! =)

It is called selective memory loss. Many people call it selective amnesia. I'm not gonna lie. I suffer like at least 80% of our adult population. I keep a daily journal and when I go back and see that a page has been ripped out of it, I know that means I was ashamed of something I've done and you know what, I cannot remember! I've been accused of doing somethings I am in denial about, but looking at those ripped pages, I know the accusations are likely true. You know the truth, so what he thinks is true doesn't matter. You and God both know. That is enough. By the way, what's got you thinking about inheritance/death, huh?

It sounds like that the info from the boyfriend has no proof. There's no way that that claim to be looked upon as true or not so I would just take the info with a grain of salt until that daughter tells you herself in her own words when she feels that the timing is right. Besides, there is a chance he could be teasing you. You could say to her, "Well I heard you did". If she still says she didn't do it, then let it go at that. Good luck

I don't think he meant that literally.

He probably just said it for the sake of saying it.

What's the big deal?

Haven't you ever said something dumb and senseless and when someone calls you on it again in the future you can't recall what you were talking about?

I'm sure it's the same thing.

Don't sweat it. He really can't remember. What's the point for pushing the subject?

Why would that subject come up between the two of you? That doesn't seem appropriate. Are you trying to put a wedge between them? Seems that way from what you say. I suggest you not say anything else, especially since he's claiming he didn't say it.

It could just be a feeling he had at that time and now he doesn't. So the idea of it now sounds ridiculous.
