Unfortunately, the pound is usually kinda pricey, but you should be able to get a pooch for under $250 - just go once a week or two and see who's there. The population turns over frequently, so if no one catches your eye, don't worry, your Fido will show up and then lick you to death.

you should go to your local dog pound - there are incredibly wonderful, loyal dogs who desperately need a home. you may even save a dog from being put down. And usually the cost is less than $30!

Haunt the everett shelter. They get dogs in often, and don't wait to euthanize, so you really would be saving a life.
