I think I accidentially saved a document as read only, because it lets me open it, but not make any changes to it. How do I solve this problem?

Hi,

You have 2 options.

1. Right click on the file - Go to Properties - Read-only will be checked - Uncheck it - Press OK.
2. Open the file - Go to File - Save As - Save it in some other name.

This should work.

There could be many reasons why your document is Read-Only. The most common fix is to close the document. Find the document icon in Windows, right click, uncheck the "Read only" box. Select OK.

Locate the file, right-click on it and click 'Properties'.
The Properties window should popup, now Uncheck the box that says "Read-only".
Now import your document and try again.

Flux.

Copy the document and paste it as a new one, that's what I usually do.

go to tools> protection, and unprotect the document.
