I'm not sure why, it doesn't happen a lot, but when it does it really does not look natural. I think it's mostly when she yawns that it does it. It's a visible almost looks like her teeth are chattering from cold kind of quiver.. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything that could cause this or if they had even seen this happen before..? And what can I do? I plan to ask next time she goes to the vet, but that won't be for a while and I'm not gonna pay an exam fee for just that!

I've seen it happen. Italian grayhounds tend to quiver all over because of their short coat and low body fat. I'm surprised it's just the jaw :) Anyways, i wouldn't be too worried about it just now, especially if there aren't any other symptoms (drooling, dilated eyes, etc). It is probably just the yawning like you said or it may be a cooler temperature and she's chattering her teeth. We always put sweater on the Italians we get at work to prvent them from shivering outside.

Keep an eye on her otherwise for any other problems in case the quiver is neurological, but until that happens I wouldn't worry. Definitely mention it to your vet though and definitely take her sooner if you notice anything else out of the ordinary.

I've never own an italian greyhound until not. Somebody dump her and she was starving when she found my home. I've know that her jaws shake is that normal?

My Italian Greyhound does this all the time .... He chatters when he's worried also when he wants some of what we are eating...I think it's a quirk of the breed. Have you tried comforting her during this chattering phase ???

kall the vets,,, they dont charge for that... just ask if there is anything you can do for her at home and if that is common, if they make you come and pay, then kall a different place, maek sure the person who your aklling know that the last place turned you down and just tell them your looking for advice, sometimes my dogs jaw quivers when she yawns so i wouldnt be too worried... best of luck!

If you care about your dog, then money should not be a factor in getting it medical care. I have never seen this before in a dog, but my dog is an Aussie. Please take your dog to the vet, they are the only ones who can determine what is causing this and if it is serious or not, not people on Yahoo Answers.
