By understanding what you're taught. If you have any question at all about what you're being taught, raise your hand and ASK!

Attend class, take notes, ask questions when you do not understand, if you still do not understand speak to the teacher/professor, get classmates that are getting it to help you when you need help, read the text book repeatedly, do your homework religiously, study like crazy for tests. If you have average intelligence this will get you a B or C; if you are above average it will get you A's and B's; if you are smart you will be a straight A student. It is work just like everything else.

Pay attention in class, take good notes and do your homework...there's no need to stay up into the wee hours of the morning studying for your exams...as long as you do those three things, you can get your rest. Oh and don't stress out...that doesnt solve anything...it just makes you break out

you need to study. when you go to class, you need to listen to your teacher no matter how boring your he/she is. there will be times when you dont understand the topic. feel free to ask questions about it.

on exams (at least the major one), you need to study at least 2 days before. doesnt mean you need to sleep late just to memorize everything. you just have to understand it. it would be great to have a good sleep before the exam. your mind will be "fresh" and you'd be able to remember the things you've read last night.

important: dont forget to relax and have some fun.
