Toadyboy is smoking crack. Check your local laws to see if it is legal or not. Just because they sell something somewhere doesn't make it legal. They sell radar detectors in truckstops, but it is illegal to have one, even if it is still in the package, in a semi.

the first guy had it right. they are illegal.
as for the second guy, i son't think he has ever read the warning on anything he purchased saying check local laws before installing as this product may not be legal where you reside.
