Have a vet look at her foot, probably either her, or the other one is nibbling at it, causing the bleeding, but you need professional advice there!!! As far as mating, and breeding, only nature, and time will take care of that, and there is nothing you can do but be patient!!! Are you sure, they are of the opposite sex??? Birdman

You shouldn't even be considering breeding them! The female finch is in pain and needs to go to the vet and have her toe treated. Also, if it is deformed, you would be passing that deformity on to the offspring. That would be a very cruel and irresponsible thing to do.

I'm not trying to be mean here...but if you've got a finch with a deformed toe that is constantly bleeding, why on EARTH are you even considering breeding?

She needs to be healthy to take care of the babies. If she's not, then they will not survive...

See where I'm going with this?

Maybe she is hurting and because of that is not interested in mating. You should have to toe looked at by a vet and then consider not being so selfish, as to what you want and consider helping out the pet in your care.

If it bleeds to much you might want to put some corn starch or flour on it, it will sop the bleeding. Dont know to much about the breeding part though, i do know they'll breed better in a quit room away from family noises

If they don't want to mate, don't force them, ifyou force parakeets, they will slowly die. And the bleeding will stop eventually.

P.S. Are you sure you want babies, they are really hard to take care of because a bird lays about 20 in a year.
