Society(especially US society) is like a person that has a problem and know he/she has a problem;so they go to the phsychiatrist to get help with their problem. But for some odd reason when the person gets to the doctors office to get help with their problem;for some reason they start denying that they have a problem.Doctor tells them well you came here,so their must be something wrong. And the person just very adimantly denies having any kind of problem;and refuses to evan listen to anyone(doctor, parents, spouses ect.) tryna convince them and show them that they need to go back and let the doctor help them.

Does this not sound like the spiritual and mental state of society(US & otherwise) today?Everybody know there's a problem, christians know there's a problem, and evan a few other that arnt christian know. And when we try and let them know how to fix what's wrong, they refuse the help.

Agree with the comparison or No?Explain why?

a christian does not necessarily see the problem(s) as other people, so of course they do not want the resolution that is suggested, becuase it only fixes an ideaological perspective, not the problem. most christians really need to step out of the box, and look at things as they are, not how a book tells them to see it, maybe then the resolution would be more universally accepted. thomas

I agree that there are problems and there are "problems"... The biggest problem we face is our inability to stop caring what the person next to us is doing. We focus far too much on other peoples problems and not enough on our own. Not that we've become selfless in any way, but we just want to make sure the next person isn't getting away with something we aren't allowed to. Its really childish. Everybody sees problems with today's society- its f#cked up! We have one side saying that one set of rules should be set, while the other is saying that they should not due to fairness issues... This is normal, and will not change. If there was no/one world religion or no/one race we would fight about something else. Blonde haired people being discriminated against because they are different than the black haired people. Blue eyes vs Green... etc. We are only human. It is in our nature to assimilate and destroy all opposition. Though this is greatly repressed by society and value systems we were brought up with, this doesn't just go away (I think you and I both can see that's pretty apparent even on the R&S section here, don't you agree?). We fear change- that too is in our nature- and act accordingly. I know your views on this subject and have found you at the opposing end of a number of debates, so I won't interject anything other than general data in this answer (as you did with your question). SO, I agree with your comparison. To admit fault is to lose the "battle."

Someday, humans will reach a point where intelligence will supress the last of our instinct. I'm sure you and I both can stand for a little of that (or at least our children and their children).

I do not agree. Yes this society has problems but who should the "doctor" be? You say "we let them know how to fix what's wrong" but who are "we"?

I agree, its because people dont want to follow any rules, they just want to do things their way, and if someone tells them that they are wrong, they get angry and say you have no tolerance, you should accept the things I do, because they are self centered and want things their way, no matter if it hurts them or anyone else.
