It depends on how long you've known him, what things he IS into, and maybe other factors. In any case, making it something personal would be much better than just getting something "mechanical" like CD's, electronics, etc. Here are a few suggestions:
1. TWO tickets to something you can do together: a concert, the theatre, opera, etc. (Eighteen years ago now, my partner invited ME to drive HER 70 miles to the opera, after I'd first invited her to go on a walk in a local state park. That sure indicated her reciprocal interest!)
2. Related to that, a gift of your personal time for other things, like a home project requiring two people to complete it. (My partner is in fact much more practical than me.)
3. If you've spent some time together, and taken photographs during such occasions, a personally compiled album, with short printed comments on them or the circumstances, would be a most acceptable gift.
4. If it's cold now where you live, how about something like a CASHMERE or other soft scarf? (Similarly, a really nice pair of leather gloves with soft lining.) Even people who aren't into clothes can still get cold, so one of these should be welcome. What's more, every time he wraps that luxurious softness around him, or slips on his gloves, he'll think of you! That can't be bad, can it?
5. And finally, if he DOES like gadgets, or is simply interested in knowing what the weather is like outside, give him his very own indoor (and remotely communicating outside) weather station! The Weather Channel makes one that can tell him what both temperature and humidity are, indoors and outside. It comes with a remote, broadcasting wind, temperature and humidity gauge that can communicate wirelessly with the in-home display from up to 300 feet away, so it can be put well away from any building for more accurate ambient readings. This is something I recently gave my own partner for Christmas, and she just LOVES it! --- her most frequent questions used to be "What's it like outside; how warm is it? is it windy?... ." (Original recommended price $149, but a deal at the local Macy's for $79. There are various models giving subsets of information, but this one shows "the works." Oh, yes, even phases of the Moon, and a 24 hour weather forecaster claiming 70 % accuracy.)
Good luck. Live long and prosper.

video games, CDs, DVDs, anything like that... just go out shopping with him one day, go in the entertainment section, and remember what he talks about and looks at the most... then go by yourself and buy it for him. Easy present! Good luck! :)
