My father had died two years before our wedding, so I know what you are going through. I had my older brother dance with me at that time. However, my mom did come get me for a dance later in the evening, she surprized the heck out of me, but it was so cool!
So, do it with your mom!

Yes, you can have a mother and daughter dance. I've seen this done.

Or, in place of the father/daughter dance, have an anniversary dance. For this dance, all the married couples dance. As the song plays, the DJ says "Will anyone married less than 1 year please sit down" and so on until only one couple, the longest married, is left dancing.

We just skipped that part. My parents have been divorced for a long time and our problem was the switching. Eventually my husband and I did dance with all our parents (both of our parents are divorced and his dad is remarried) It took a lot of stress off of an uncomfortable situation. The only formal dance we did was our first dance.

It is possible to have any kind of dance you want, it's your wedding. I think that would be beautiful. My dad also passed and I would have done that with my mother too but she also passed last year. Do whatever makes you the happiest on your big day.

You don't have to do any special dances if you don't want to. I did two dances--one with my dad and one with my stepdad.

I say go for it! This is your special day and if you want to honor your mother that way, by all means.

Btw, I think you should ask your mom what she'd want to do. I think she'd be honored even if she doesn't want to dance with you. :)

Sure this could be fun....you could pick out one of your moms favourite dance songs and after awhile invite everyone to join you!

You can share your special dance with anyone you like. It's your day.

Of course it is! Work with what you have-I'm sure your mom would be honored.

Congratulations
