I opened up a Microsoft Word from my well working computer, however this thing popped out stating they needed my name, initials, organization, which i can do all, but product key? is that something i can type randomly or is it an avication code or something??? what is the DUMB product key!?!?!?

Yes, it's what allows you to use the software.

It is normally on the envelope or CD case that your Word CD cam in.

Microsoft usually uses a bright yellow label and it will have a 25 character Key Code comprised of numbers and letters.

It's a code used to prevent theft of Microsoft software.
It's good for one copy of the software
The disks and/or documents that come with your computer should have this code.
If you still are stuck you can use a free alternative to Microsoft Office http://openoffice.org

You may have to purchase this from Microsoft unless you go to limewire and look for Keygen to unlock the program for you to use unlimited.

If you bought the software then it should be there.

it proves that you payed for the software, should be on the cd case somwhere or your can get a keygen off of limewire or utorrent.

It should be on the CD case for the program. They do it to prevent piracy.
