by federal law, your employer must provide it before february 1. if you need it in a hurry, go to the company web site, or telephone the payroll office by telephone. maybe they can fax it to you. in any case, contact them to make sure they have your mailing address.
good luck!

Check with the payroll department where you work. Some companies have W-2's available online, some don't. Even if they do, they might not be available yet.
Comment - the small business that I'm involved with uses Paychex for our payroll, and the W-2's came today and have been distributed.

yea but if you use your w2 they give you a sort of money loan instead of it being your actual return. like they said, you should get your w2 in the mail by then but you can file it online and have it direct deposited asap. besides the irs will only start to accept e-files on a certain date. www.expresstaxrefund.com will let you file and automatically file the earliest date possible with the irs and have it set for direct deposit asap. i always use them.

merely positioned, consistently BE user-friendly with what you rfile and there will be no issues. He purposely stated better than his W-2, a rfile they have each and every ability to assessment, so he has little selection yet to document the amendent and roll the cube. If an unintended mistake replaced into made in submitting -- as handed off to me a year or 2 in the past, certainly one of my tax data arrived previous due and that i forgot that it replaced into to be coming, so had to amend and take the $seventy 5 hit with Block to restoration the priority -- then you particularly shouldn't could desire to concern approximately an audit, you have have been given your bases coated and made a unsleeping attempt to restoration the blunders. So what i'm asserting is, document the modification like an easy mistake replaced into made, then shop all tax data in a folder for right here few years in case something happens (i think of they could audit as much as 3 years later, yet they propose protecting data for longer). It purely seems doubtful in case you do no longer best the inaccuracies.

Check with your tax person, but I remember seeing ads on tv for places that will do your taxes with your last check stub. I think H&R Block and Jackson-Hewitt were two of them.
