Depends on which organization you donate to. Organizations like Red Cross use majority of charity donations in their programs. Other charities spend 60 to 90% paying for expensive management.

If you go to the particular non-profit-organization that you're curious about they are required by law to make public the way they spent their aid.
How the money is spent varies dramatically from one aid organization to the next, and also from one country to the next.
Sadly, there is a lot of corruption at the exectuve level of many of the recipient countries. Aid organizations have created a disincentive for promoting progress in a country as the better the situation becomes for a country the less aid money they will receive.
The book Dark Star Safari by Paul Theroux provides a fascinating look into the African continent as Paul Theroux visits many of the countries he worked and volunteered in 25 years prior when he was in the Peace Corps. It's disenchanting to see how many of the countries were worse off and what the condition was of donated schools & hospitals.

Depends on who you send/give the money to. And it probably would go to education, treatment, and prevention of AIDS.

They get the wrong idea, and instead of fighting Aid's, they somehow think that by killing everyone, aids will go away. I think we should have said something about that eh?

Probably towards condoms ,research teaching them about it and medication and treatment.

They teach abstinence.
