I recentley got my hair highlighted(monday) todays wednesday. A couple of years ago I developed anaphalaxis and had to carry around an EpiPen.. well.. I still take allergy medicine for my sinuses and to control my allergys.. but I have'nt had a reaction in years. I had my hair highlighted about 4 months ago.. And I went to get some brown in it, today at school my neck started feeling funny, and when I felt it, it was bumpy and odd feeling.. It looks and feels like a rash. Could it be from the hair coloring? Am I in danger? Help please

It has been 2 days scince I got it colored.. I told her not to use the dye.. just to highlight it.. but she accidentally dropped some on my scalp..
Serisously I am very worried, because I donn't want to go blind or fall out in a epilepsy attack(I am slightly hypochondriac) am I going to be alright?

You went today to get some brown in it? or 4 months ago?
okay.... I would not worry that it would become worse as it usually is an immediate reaction that will push you into a serious attack. I would, however wash your hair with your normal shampoo (your body is already used to it) and be sure to rinse it well at least twice a day. More than likely its a topical reaction that isn't life threatening. If you feel worse, more symptoms present, I would call your doctor and have him/her check it out.
Most of all just relax as stress is a trigger for attacks as well.
Be sure to use your normal allergy med.. (Benadryl, Claritin Sudafed, etc...)
(don't go to that woman again if she wasn't listening to you say you have allergic reactions...)
Best of Luck!

If you were going to have a bad reaction, you would have done it prior to today. Having said that, you may be having a slight reaction to the chemicals used in highlighting hair. I would suggest that you wash your hair well, wash your neck well and put some hydrocortisone cream on it. It might not hurt to take a antihistamine (Benadryl, Claritin, Alavert) as well to stop any reaction in progress. Make sure you tell your hair stylist about the reaction the next time you see her and she can take steps to protect your skin.

could be a reaction to the dye. Think about Calamine lotion/Benadryl if you are able to take either. Put some cool compresses on it for a bit, then if gets worse instead of better, get help. And, keep your hair up.

yeah sure. for me some "benadryl" takes down swelling.
I am allergic to peanuts.... i get hives on contact. When the reaction isn't so bad that i need an EpiPen, I use benadryl.

It could be an allergic reaction but nothing that will effect you seriously enough for you to use your Epi-pen.
You also could be having a reaction to your shampoo, conditioner, or even your soap.
