Ground beef is any type of cattle. Its generally the extras to the cow. Not all the time though.

It's a mixture of ground (dirt) and beef (cattle). They typically scrape between the toes to get the ground out and mix it with the meat. They've been doing it that way for centuries. Bon appitite!!

In the butcher shop I work in, ground beef is made of the trimmings from beef roasts, steaks, cube steaks, and the like. That is pure cow (moooooo).
Ground pork (oink-oink) is made into sausage.
Ground Turkey or Chicken is just disgusting and we don't sell it.
