My girlfriend wants a pistol. I was wanting to find a pink or girlie pistol. Has anyone heard of such a thing?

First and foremost it’s a Tool not a Fashion Statement.
They seldom need to match your shoes or ensemble.
You make it sound like a toy and if you don’t take it serious.
I truly doubted she will, and some one will get hurt.
You should be concerned with Quality and Dependability.
And before hand if you care for her enroll in a Certified Self Defense class for the proper use and handling of a weapon.
Then go gun shopping.

Bear in mind that a little derringer in a normal caliber will be an absolute pig to shoot.

How about something shiny? Girls often like shiny. How about a Walther PPK in chrome?

Smith and Wesson once made the Ladysmith, but that was a 357 and with the exception of a 44 Magnum Derringer it was the least pleasant weapon I ever shot.

Smith and Wesson do still do some titanium pistols, expensive but slightly unusual colors. I have to admit I've never seen a pink one though.

What is a pistol for ? if she wants protection do not even think about some chrome plated , pink, pearl, crap !
Get a gun that will hit an attacker like a brick. The Taurus Bull Dog in .44 Special, or the LadySmith in .357 will work. Get a revolver, not an automatic . You want simple, easy to shoot, and safe. Derringers are worthless, absolutely worthless. She should shoot you if you give her a firearm that is not safe and adequate.
Go to a gun shop and see what fits her hand. Go to a range and let her shoot some different pistols. Let her choose , and aid her in getting one that make one shot kills.

There are several companies that produce such pistols and they all have a few things in common.

1) They are cheaply manufactured, using die-cast frames and slides.
2) They are only made in calibers that are considered un-suitable for self-defense, such as .22, .25acp, and .32acp.
3) They all are not reliable or accurate enough designs to count on to save your life in a desperate situation.

Perhaps not as cute as a pink-enameled .25 with pearl grips but far more practical, is the Smith and Wesson Ladysmith series.
They are real, high-quality handguns tailored to a smaller hand.
Both revolvers and automatics are avalible in calibers .38 special, .357 magnum, and 9mm. They are engraved with the elegant Ladysmith logo and CAN be had with pearl grips....
Probably even in PINK PEARL.
(Aftermarket grips come in all shapes and materials.)
(For that matter, there is a company called Dura-cote That makes bake-on paint type firearms finishes. They advertise PINK on their list of colors, so I suppose you could paint about anything you wind up getting with it..... But EEEEW....A Pink GUN?)

Try taurususa.com

The Taurus company makes a line of polished stainless steel or chrome guns highlighted with gold accents and pearl grips. They are pretty and can be had and calibers like .380, 9mm, .38, and .357.
Is this the lady's first hand gun? If so, I always recommend a .38 or .357 mag. revolver. Simple to operate, plenty of power. Take her to the local gun shop and have her handle some different guns. I suspect she will find trying to operate the heavy slide of some of the autos a bit much and will appreciate the simplicity of the revolver.
If you are going to get her a gun, get her a training class as well. It is money well spent.

Taurus makes an auto-loader in .22 and .25 acp that is a copy of the Beretta. It is available with pink grips. Although this is not the best choice for a defensive handgun, hey, no one wants to get shot, even with a .22! Safety first. Make sure your girlfriend takes a gun safety course.

Good luck.

I'm a big believer in gun ownership, but you might want to make sure that she can handle a gun if you have not already. Guns of any type are serious business and should not be taken lightly. The question you are giving us makes me wonder aabout how serious she is concerning getting a gun. A lot of people "want" a gun. My sincerest apologies if all is in order. Ditch the girly colors.

It would be better to get a stainless steel pistol with mother of pearl grips

For defense, reliability is most important. Single-round killing power is a distant second. (If it won't fire, the caliber does not matter). Barrel length is not very important. We are not talking 100 yard shots here. My main squeeze (wife) of 30 years carrys a LadySmith in .38 cal with wadcutter ammo. She understands what it is for.

You could get her a derringer or "baby" browning with a pink handel. I've seen both and given a baby browning to my sister and taught her how to shoot it. Both are .22cal. So you'd have cheap ammo, low recoil, and a nice little"petite" or "girly" gun.
