Even though you are a soldier you still are an American. You still have the right to be angry. BUT....you took an oath. Love him or hate him President Bush is our Commander in Chief. Thus be carefull what you say about him, be carefull what you say about the war and our leadership. Dont let your anger get you into trouble. If you must speak out against the war do it out of uniform and make it clear you are speaking as a civilian and it does not relfect your ability to do your job in the military.

NO it is not wrong for you to feel anger! Sorry for you all and I apologize to you and the rest of the troops, with a hanging head as an American. I've have no good answer for you and the rest of the troops...I am so sorry they have cut your pay, not given you adequate medical coverage, and for the lack of equipment, armor and bullet proof vests.
I apologize for your leaves being canceled and for the men and women who can't retire. For all the broken promises that the government has made to you all. For the sacrifice you have been asked for...all I can say is Thank You All and your families.
No matter how we collectively feel about the war, that should not apply to the service men and women fighting it.
Accept my humble apology and my Sincere Thanks..for all that you have done and continue to do so bravely in our name.

Its deffenetly not wrong to feel that way. Going to war is probally the scariest thing anyone will ever have to face and Most ppl like us will never ever know how that feels so its not right for us to tell you that your feeling are wrong when you're about to go to a strange country away from your family for and indefinite time. YOu should be a liitle angry but just don't take that with you to war cuase if you dont' believe in w hat you're doing it then the cause is not justiefied. and still no matter how good a cause we have for war losing just one human life is still too much of a sacrifice. but even if your against the war you have to remeber to su pport our troops who actually see all the atrocities of war

Yes. If you don't want to fight you should have never joined the military. The military is not a jobs program, it exists to fight the nation's wars and the troops in that military do not get the option of picking and choosing which ones they agree with. We have been in Iraq since 2003 and that is plenty of time for you to have hit the road to civilianhood.

No it isn't wrong for you to be angry. You are too soon old and too late smart though. You must have needed money pretty bad to have joined the military in the first place. I didn't think it paid enough to make a person shoot against their conscious.
Like other military people have answered before me, you are obligated now to uphold the "commander in chief" like it or not. You're in buddy. Be angry all you want but now its your job. Trying to convince people to stay out of the military is a losing battle...so many people on unemployment or getting too low of a salary to manage.
By the way, why aren't Bush's children there? Doesn't he have two girls? Can't they be taught to march and carry weapons to fight for the democracy their daddy believes in so much? What's the matter with them!!! ???
My advice, don't do anything the congressmen and president wouldn't do. You can do pretty much anything you want with that criteria except...JOIN THE MILITARY AS REGULAR ARMY. They are too smart for that.
Next time, don't be angry, just be as smart as Bush's kids.

You are fighting for America's rights to disagree with the government and you are an American so feel as you do. I didn't side with the President at first untill I steped back and thought about it, it would SUCK to be the president he was screwed with whatever he did! Though my opinion (that you, a Soldier, has given me the right to) is that you knew what you were signing up for when you signed up for it. Please don't say that you didn't think we'd go to war, that you would be able to see the world at the US expense and not have to face people who hate America! All in all....THANK YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME TO LIVE IN A SAFE AND FREE COUNTRY!

No, you're not wrong. You are entitled to your opinion in this and every military operation. The challenging part of our job is to check our opinions at the door and make it happen anyway.
I'm in IRR right now, served two tours in Iraq, and am livid at how our government is handling this situation. I firmly believe that if we use the personnel and resources that are already in Iraq and use them in an efficient way, we can end this within the year. But who am I? Just a staff sergeant who spent a lot of time twidling thumbs while the bosses tried to figure out which end is up.

We ned to remember that there were no terrorists in Iraq until Bush stuck his big nose in that country. And no. You are NOT wrong in how you feel. I'd love to see every single one of you lay down arms and come home. Let Bush and all of his cronies fight this insane war.

NO!
I will not go down under the ground
"Cause somebody tells me that death's comin' 'round
An' I will not carry myself down to die
When I go to my grave my head will be high,
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
There's been rumors of war and wars that have been
The meaning of the life has been lost in the wind
And some people thinkin' that the end is close by
"Stead of learnin' to live they are learning to die.
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
I don't know if I'm smart but I think I can see
When someone is pullin' the wool over me
And if this war comes and death's all around
Let me die on this land 'fore I die underground.
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
There's always been people that have to cause fear
They've been talking of the war now for many long years
I have read all their statements and I've not said a word
But now Lawd God, let my poor voice be heard.
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
If I had rubies and riches and crowns
I'd buy the whole world and change things around
I'd throw all the guns and the tanks in the sea
For they are mistakes of a past history.
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
Let me drink from the waters where the mountain streams flood
Let me smell of wildflowers flow free through my blood
Let me sleep in your meadows with the green grassy leaves
Let me walk down the highway with my brother in peace.
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
Go out in your country where the land meets the sun
See the craters and the canyons where the waterfalls run
Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho
Let every state in this union seep in your souls.
And you'll die in your footsteps
Before you go down under the ground.
