I have a moderate sized soft corn on my baby toe. I wanted an at-home remedy but the acid pads, pumice stone and other stuff didn't work. Heard the Freeze off may work on a corn but I know its really for plantar warts. Wondering if anyone else has tried it on corns.

I would think so. I can't remember but I think compound - W is for warts. But when I was a kid, I used compound W to remove a corn on my toe and it worked. I believe the freeze off advertise that they are for warts too? But in either case, the wart cures worked on my corn too.

My mother-in-law lives in Illinois also. When I was visiting her a couple of summers ago, we stopped at the family farm and picked bags of fresh sweet corn -- maybe 3 dozen ears. So I got plenty of freezing experience in that one trip. Here's how we did it: 1. First remove the corn from the husk & wash the ears -- removing the stalk, tassles/strings, bugs... (eww!) 2. Then cut the kernels off the cob using a sharp knife. I'm sure your electric knife will work great. 3. Put the kernels in a large pot, then add about 1/2 cup granulated sugar and a couple tablespoons of salt (you can adjust the amounts). Then add just enough water to cover the corn... mix it all together. 4. Bring it to a boil, and continue boiling the kernels until they start to get tender. This only takes a few minutes; so be sure to keep an eye on them. Depending on how much corn you are boiling, I would say no more than 3 or 4 minutes. Also, you don't need to cover the pot. 5. Do not drain (there shouldn't be too much water remaining in the pot)... spread the kernels on a cookie sheet or pyrex dish to cool down. 6. Once cooled, spoon the kernels into freezer bags with a little bit of the water. Then stack the bags in the freezer. Enjoy your delicious fresh corn... mmm! :)
