I have had a teddybear since I was 2 hours old. He's white n his name is Roger I have had him for 24 yrs. The poor thing is soooooo old he don't even have stitches for his mouth anymore. I slept with him every night, If I couldn't find him I could not go to bed. I used to take him everywhere. I would stuff him in my backpack when I was in elementary school; he just made me feel safe, and I was only happy when I had him with me. I sometimes pull him off the shelf when I am feeling just a little bit sad to this day n I feel so much better. Especially on those really stressful days...it just lightens the day a bit n I feel like a child all over again...a time when I had no worries.

My most prized possession is my family(my husband, our two sons, and our kitty cats)! We all get old and worn out from our life on this planet.

My most prized possession is a Jamaican dollar bill that I recieved from my aunt. I carry it with me in my wallet all the time. It has no value in the united states, and I don't really remember the reason why she gave it to me. It has sort of become a good luck piece for me. My aunt when she was really sick and I wasn't able to visit her before she died, I sent it back to my mom to return to her with the message that she probably needed the luck a little bit more than I did at the time. Unfortunately she did pass and every time I look at it it just puts a smile on my face from all the great memories that I had with my aunt when she was out in AZ visiting.

I still have the doll I had when I was 8 years old that was nearly 40 years ago It has a dress my grandmother made on it, my grandmother died in 1975 and I miss her dearly, the doll is pretty beat up but I can't part with it. I also have a pair of bunnies I made, one is wearing a sun dress my grandmother made me when I was a baby, the other wears a dress I made myself but underneath it is the crinoline slip from my first communion. I think it's comforting for many of us to hold on to things from the past, It's not really the possessions but the memories that the items evoke that we are so connected to. Keep it and cherish it, It may not be an heirloom, but I would have loved to have my grandmother's old teddy bear. Bless your mother for not throwing it away.

After my mom passed away back in July, My sister and I had to go clean out her house and one of the things I discovered is a little red and white suit and tie I wore in some pictures I have to this day. I was like 2 years old at that time. I am 46 now. My mom kept those thing for all those years and I had no idea.......

I have a family which I love, but I do not consider them to be possessions. People can not really possess one another. Even my cat that I bought and paid for I don't consider her to be a possession. She is my friend. I think that my most prized possessions (I have two) are a picture of my father, and a dress that belonged to my mother. Since they are both deceased these things are tangible evidence of their lives.

1. My family 2. My friends. People who realize that these are really the only things that matter are truly blessed. Sounds like your teddy was like a family member. That is really nice!

a 2 foot tall stuffed dog. he sits on his bottom and has arms and legs and big jawls like a bulldog. anyway, he's my favorite possession because he has sentimental value. my dad gave him to me when i was first born. it was my first toy. my dad left me when i was 2, and i never saw him again. he wanted no contact with me. during my teen years i had a really really hard time with this, and i had so many mixed emotions. i used to hold that stuffed dog and cry until i had no more tears. i used to talk to it like it was my dad, and ask it "why". sitting here now, and thinking of all the tear stains on that dog, and all of my thoughts that it holds in its stitches brings tears to my eyes. because my dad has been dead for two years...and i never had a chance to learn "why". but i keep that dog because its all i have that reminds me of him..and makes me hope that he gave it to me because he loved me.

sorry for being so mushy..and thank you for bringing back memories
