Try to be more outgoing and then you'll feel that you don't need to be shy anymore. Try to just be yourself like you act at home. Some people act shy around other people but when they get home that act cool. Try to let yourself be more spoken around people. It may take awhile so don't push it to go any faster then you want it to go.

You wrote that you are a very shy person and you want to know what to do about it? First of all, why don't you talk to your Mom or Dad about this problem you have, because, I am pretty sure they know about it, or are you attending school, because if you are they usually have counselors available to whatever problem a student has. Don't you have someone that you can talk to about it? maybe a close friend or a person of confidence which you can confide in? I wish I could help you but, I am at a lose as to what you can do about it.

face your shyness, the next time you leave the house say hello to the first 5 people you see and make sure you take a good look to see what color their eyes are. Then, the next stranger that is standing behind you at the grocery store mention to them anything, ask them something or compliment them on their smile (if they are not smiling, they will), point is just say something. Do this everyday for 1 week and then, remeber how hard it was on day one and how easy it is on day 7. If you can make just one person smile a day, you have overcome your shyness and showed your face to the world.

well...self confidence is actually one's choice. if you want to be left out, then continue being shy. i believe no person who ever succeeded is shy.
