It takes a "VERY" curly haired girl to understand what you are going through...and believe me, I have curly VERY curly hair and I understand. When I was younger my mother insisted in leaving my hair waist long because it was supposed to weigh down and "control" my unruly hair, but believe me that wasn't the answer.
My personal experience is; If you daughter has short hair let it grow to shoulder length (or a little longer), and if her hair is too long then do the same thing, however, cut some layers into it, NO RAZOR CUTS, it damages you hair like you have no idea!!!!. Remember to keep the layers long in the areas around the face, everything else you can layer away; you should take into consideration your child's age because some layers could be too dramatic for someone who is too young.
Layers give curls a more bouncy look, but in order to control frizz you can put some mousse on the ends, that way curls remain looking natural... please, please, please take it easy on the mousse; I hate it when people put so much mousse in their hair that it starts looking and feeling like "cheetos", crunchy and all ... NOT CUTE!!!
One thing I can admit to is, that once I embraced my curls it was much easier to take care of it. Now I can change it up, blow dry it, color it and find new thing to do with it almost every day. I love being the only one that can wake up in the morning pull my hair up in a pony tail and still have a fabulous looking hair do. These tips are only a few that have worked for me, so I hope they help for you.
Good Luck,
B.Bee

You should educate yourself on how to work with curly hair. There is a website (www.curls.biz) that sells products for little girl's with curly hair. The products are called Curly Q's. There is a whole section/article there explaining how to work with curly hair on children.
I bet she looks really cute with the right products for her hair.
Number 1 rule is to moisturize her hair! Never let it get dried out, that is when the frizz comes. Number 2 rule is to never brush her hair when it is dry. Only use a wide tooth comb on it when it is wet. Number 3 rule don't over shampoo her hair. Once a week is more then enough with curly hair.

Apply Paul Mitchell Supper Skinny before drying with diffuser, it cuts drying time in half and smells great! Plus it gets rid of unwanted frizzies. Redken Curl Boost can be applied during the day to keep the frizz down with out weighing down the curls. Eliminate any volumizing shampoos and conditioners and switch to smoothing shampoos ~ maxtrix has a great one as well as Aquage.

if you use that light weight conditioner then it will keep it frizzy, if you use alot of conditioner thin it will get the frizz away, or straighten it and use hair spray before you straighten, it will make it less curly and less frizzy, you may have to take more showers so that your hair doesn't get greasy cause of the conditioner, personally i haven't tried this cause i have straight hair but my best friend has really frizzy and wavy hair and it looks way better, also eat vitamins so it will strengthen your hair and it will be silkier and shiners and longer.

it's ok, my friend has the same problem...she's old enough so she uses a maxiglide, but if your daughter is young, then maybe put a little gel in it and scrunch it so it's curly not frizzy. but DON"T cut it! my friend tried that and her hair got worse b/c it was lighter so it fluffed up MORE!!! don't cut it! the longer the better!
i think gel would be great though...i use curls up, from wal-mart, it's a big pink bottle.

what wrong with curly hair?
just try to clip it up so she'd look tidy and neat
and dont ever talk about how curly her hair is unless you're talking in a positive way cause she'll feel awfull about her looks for her whole life if she ever hear mummy saying her hair isnt nice.
