Ouch! You should not be hitting people! Let this be a lesson!

Seriously though! I am not a medical professional but, if your finger did not turn black and blue, me thinks it is likely a sprain. If it's swollen and colorful, you need to see a doc.

One can always purchase a splint at the pharmacy to keep the finger immobilized. You will know if it works or not within two weeks.

However, if you have insurance and can afford to see a medical professional, then by all means do so! Especially since we don't have x-ray vision!

I seriously doubt it is broken. If it was broken, it would be bruised, swollen, and you would not be able to move it without wanting to throw up. You have probably bruised it badly on the inside. I will take time to heal. Remember how bad this hurts when you want to hit someone else. I learned my lesson after a couple of times.

my job is radiology , you might had broke it , you might had sprained it real bad , without an xray you can't be positive unless it is bent , alot of people think all breaks turn black . but thats not always the case . if you don't plan on going to your dr then put a splint on it to help it heal , and try not to hit things or people , good luck , and God bless
