Okay, everyone chose from the items below to decide who Jesus really was. I'm just curious what everyone thinks.
Liar- He made it all up. (Remember that he was willing to die for this in the most horrible way)
Lunatic- He's just cuckoo. (Remember that his teachings were the most sane in history and that he controlled his emotions)
Lord- He's God! ( He wants you to accept Him as your Savior)
Please don't put anything rude! And explain your answer. This is for a project!

Okay, here's my reason that the disciples didn't make this up!
1. They all died for this! James was beheaded, Peter was crucified upside down, John was thrown into burning oil, and so on.
2. They wrote this as eyewitnesses because they used words such as "as you know" and "as you saw with your own eyes."
3. They wrote about their own mistakes like Peter denying Jesus and more.
This thing has gotta be true because I did research on this! Jesus was telling the truth. And the Gosples confirmed this.

You left out a choice.
"None of the above"
I believe Jesus existed, he was not a liar or lunatic, but he was also not God. He never *said* he was God, and most of what he *did* say was misunderstood by the people. He had a very elevated consciousness and came to Earth to deliver a message from God. Too bad, most people didn't (and still don't) get it.
I have every respect for Jesus the Christ, I just don't believe the way he has been portrayed in the Bible and in Christianity.

God.
He is both the Greatest Prophet ever to speak, His words were Radical and Totally opposite of the Acceptable teachings, and completely New.
He is God because since the day No single man has so completely captured the minds of so many people and turned them from their "Evil"
If he lied, He was a really good liar, I mean to Get Flogged and nailed onto a cross, then hung until he suffocated, I have no clue how someone could take that much pain, then die, and then Still have such an effect on humanity.
If he wasn't true, Then it is such a pleasant Fiction that it has so far been the reason of many people's martyrdom.

I choose "D) None of the Above". He was a wise man. He had stories created about him by the people of that time. Each one gets a little more blown out of proportion, until he's raising the dead and healing the sick. People began to think he was God, which was in the eyes of the Jews blasphemous. He didn't have the desire to die, he was just killed for the belief of many people.
Many of the stories about Jesus, like the story about him and the adulteress, were added by scribes. Not sure why, but there are theories that they wanted to add in oral stories about him.
The Jesus many Christians pray to is a part of The One, a great Being beyond names or words. The One is broken down into many Gods and Goddesses so people can understand the nature of Diety better. Since people felt he was God, The One was nice enough to become Jesus for them. We do not go to God, but God comes to us however we choose.

He is Lord and God. You can skip that stuff in the (-) What He wants is for you to know the Love that God has for you and He would like to be your friend and teacher. If you allow Him to lead and teach you He will be your Lord and your All. That is the same as 'Savior' to you, but I find that terminology repulsive. Maybe because of all the bible thumpers and the way they turn everyone off. And I don't think Jesus would be too happy about it either.

Another wannabe prophet, if he existed at all.
Remember, all of those "sane teachings" you mentioned were written decades after he supposedly died. We really know nothing about what Jesus, if he existed, actually taught or said.
However, even if Jesus wrote that stuff, which he didn't, this is still a fallacious. There are other options. Remember, just because a person is self-deluded doesn't mean everything he says is crazy. A person can be quite wise and still think he's Napoleon. He could have made it all up, fought all the way to the cross, pleaded to be let back down, then rewritten by his followers decades later who, decades later, wanted to make him appear braver.
Notice that Saul / Paul who was the first to write about him (still decades after his death) gave only sketchy details. Much much later, the Gospels were written that suddenly had all this detail about his youth, personal life, and other things.
Your "Liar, Lunatic, or Lord" is really a shallow one.

Jesus is not God. There are so many scriptures that support this. If Jesus is God, then who was the one in the bible passage that resurrected him? He was resurrected by his Father. (God) No trinity either. Jesus, God and the holy spirit are separate. Anywayssss. Jesus is God's son...and our savior by coming to earth and sacrificing his life in exchange for the sin our first parents Adam and Eve committed causing sin and death to spread to mankind. But thanks to Jesus (God's son), mankind (past and current) have a chance at everlasting life in the conditions God intended the earth to be in the first place.

Your options are SO obviously slanted, so its not a very good project, but... How about a fourth one. Jesus didn't write the Bible. It was written after his time by people who might not have told the truth. People who might have had alterior motives for saying what they did. Maybe you should figure that into your options.

Jesus is God.
Jesus said to the pharisees: Before Abraham sprang into existance "I AM" (the eternal God). Then the jews picked up stones to kill him. Jesus asked them why they wanted to kill him..for which of his good works were they so angry about.
And they replied to him:For a good work we have no problem, but because you are a man and are calling yourself God.
I am paraphrasing from memory, but this is biblical record of who Jesus and others in that time said he was.

I'm not thinking he was willing to die. I believe he took a chance and got caught up in events he could not get himself out of.
I do not believe he was a lunatic. I agree he was very wise in many of his teachings if true, But he was flaky in many of them too.
He wants you to accept him as your savior. I believe that was ludicrous. He is not God.
I hope you accept this as an opinion It is not meant to be rude. BB
Lol how silly.
