There can be many different causes for a seizure disorder sometimes referred to as epilepsy. My son has this. Some causes can be trauma/injury to the head. Also sometimes it can be considered hereditary not to the fact that if a parent etc has it you will automatically have it but they do usually look into if anyone in the family has ever been diagnosed. Sometimes doctors cannot find a cause therefore naming it idiopathic epilepsy which is what my son has been diagnosed with. I hope that this helps. there can be many different reasons for seizure disorder. i have a seizure disorder . mine is epilepsy. a vblood vessel in the left side of my brain is blocked

It can be caused by a head injury, but in many cases there is no cause or the cause in unknown.
