or whatever it wants to be called.

I am not a christian, do not believe in God, however i feel i lead my life how most christians would.

I dont steal, i dont cheat, i've never killed anyone or been to jail and i follow MOST of the ten commandments (because i feel a lot are a good way to live your life) I donate to charities and help the needy whenever i can.

So i consider myself a good person. but the one thing is that i dont believe in God.

If God is so nice, why would i have to believe in him, for him to consider me a good person and for him to let me into "heaven"??

Totally agree. I wish people understood how ridiculous they make God sound when they say that he cares more about a person's religion than their character. Why they think we would want to worship a God who is more concerned with being worshipped and recognized than anything else, I have no idea.

because you are looking at it thru YOUR eyes (instead of probably thru God's eye?)...

for 1, why would God let you into HIS heaven when you do not even believe in a God?

God is the Creator & if you could even wrap your mind around the "fine tuning" that was needed to be done to have "intelligent life" live & survive on our planet... you would know that the Creator should be described as nothing more than perfection...

& that perfection would of course demand some sort of perfection from somebody who would be admitted into HIS heaven...

& of course you know, no mere human was ever perfect, you could be a good person, but you even with your 1 tiny little sin is not...

but because the Creator is also a loving one, he made a way to make us realize that there is a God & that He wanted to share HIS heaven with us... how?

it's so simple (it's hard to believe)...
all you need to do is to believe that there is a God & that He sent His Son--who had to become human, be tempted like everyone else but did not commit a sin & who had to die for your sins & when you finally really believed in just those 2 points, then you can be righteous in God's eyes & you can be let in into HIS heaven

You said you live a good life but you know that you don't follow the ten commandments perfectly. That is the point where you and Christians are alike. The next step is to understand that you would never be able to follow them perfectly. That's where the understanding of a holy God touching your conscience and making you perfect comes in. Not perfect in being able to follow the commandments perfectly, never ever sinning again, but perfect in the knowledge that you have his righteousness. He takes your life and gives you his. He took the penalty of your sin and gave you eternal life. If you don't believe in him, don't accept that he came and lived and died and rose again, then you bear the burden of your sin all on your own.

yes. God (no one take offense to this) is like a businessman. He made a deal with mankind. People who want to get to God/Heaven or be righteous, have to come into that deal, through Jesus Christ. When you get saved, you enter that deal and can enjoy the pros (and sometimes the cons). There are only two other deals out there: living for yourself, and living for Satan, the devil; both of which leads you to Hell.

AND......consider this. God provided a way for you to become not just "a good person" but Holy (by His standards). Don't you think it'd be nice to take the offer?

If you wanna know the pros and cons, check me, or check the Bible...

It is not a question of how good you are. If you have sinned even once (in thought, word, or deed) and we all have, then you can not come into the presence of a perfectly Holy God. Heaven is not a place for good people. It is the place for perfect people, but on our own, there are no perfect people.

It is not a question of what you have done. It is a question of what He has done. Since we can not be perfect, God sent Jesus to live the perfect life that we cannot.

Jesus then paid the price for sin (death) even though he did not sin. By doing this, He paid the price for our sin. You only need to believe that God has saved you through His son in order to go to heaven.

If it were a question of how good we are, how would God determine who gets into Heaven and who doesn't?

How would you be assured of a place in Heaven? You could never know if you have been good enough?

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 3:23-26
23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Jesus is not returning until everyone has heard the news. . . .

The news of how to get to get to heaven. . . . .. . .

which means thru him . . . . . . . . . . You must accept him as your savior and repent, the Holy Spirit will do the rest . . . . . . you must have faith.

He will be impressed you were able to be "good" without believing in him because we are all born sinners. No one is perfect however he will ask if anyone told you . . . .. . what will be your answer is the real question?

I commend you and encourage you to live the way you are but if you don't believe in God why worry about heaven . . . . There is no heaven without God so . . . . .

Point made

God Bless

ALL ARE BORN IN SIN

The sin people are born into is the sin they are innocent of, but is is bad.

Gen.8:21; The imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth.

Rather than destroy the offsprings of Adam, Jesus has purchased us to save us to have what we were meant to have in the first place. We get that when the judgement day comes.
Heb.9:27;
It is appointed unto man once to die and after this the judgement.
1Cor.15:22-28;
AS IN ADAM ALL DIE EVEN SO IN CHRIST SHALL ALL BE MADE ALIVE.
Rev.20:1-6,12,13;
No Satan for 1000 years. The heavenly first resurrected is with Jesus. The judgement days is meant to save all that it is possible to save to the new heavens and new earth.
2Pet.3:13;

You said it yourself you follow most of the Ten Commandments, so if God judges you by that standard you must be guilty, right? Have you ever told a lie even a "white" one, ever hated someone. Not believing in God is also a broken commandment the first one. The Bible also teaches that when we hate we commit murder and that to violate the commandments in one point makes us guilty of all. No God will not send you to Hell on judgment day your choice of rejecting Him is simply ratified for all of eternity.

God is going to send all those with the Mark of the Beast back out into the world. Anyone whose name is in the book of life stays. It's unclear what the absolute criteria is. It could include atheists who have lived a good life and aren't following the "beast" or anti-Christ. The Bible implies no all Jews or Christians may find their name in the book.

Yes, he will send people to hell. However, hell is not a place of punishment as is so often believed. The Bible states that the sinner is doomed to eternal destruction. I believe that God created man as a way for him to propagate himself. In the Bible Jesus is said to be the firstborn of many sons. Jesus also said, "Have you not read that we are all gods." If you believe, as I do, that God has a plan for our perfection, then anyone who doesn't follow the plan will be disruptive to His greater purpose. They cannot be allowed into eternity. I believe that on judgment day, everyone will be shown their lives and will understand fully why they can't be allowed to move on to eternity.God cannot be both loving and cruel. But, weather you are good or not has nothing to do with it.

According to Scripture, no one is good. We've all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. And, because God is holy, He cannot tolerate sin and must punish it. That's why people go to Hell. It's not because they did more bad things than good things. It's that they are sinners by nature and are under the just judgment of a righteous and holy God. If you seek to go to Heaven based on your own goodness, then you have to be perfect. But, no one is. That's why Jesus came. He was the only man who lived a perfect and sinless life, fulfilling the law of God. And it's only through grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone that anyone can make it to Heaven. By trusting in Christ, God imputes Christ's righteousness to our account and we can stand before God clothed in the seamless robe of Christ's righteousness. This is the Gospel. Trading our filthy, sin stained garments for the perfect robe of the perfect righteousness of Christ. And this is a perfectly free gift.
