OMG! people! This dude's name is Beach Bum! Do you really think he wants fluffy sheer fabric, bows or vines draped around his mirror? Think about who you talking to before you write lame words! Etching the glass is nice, but it's not a "frame." How about glass tiles? They're very in right now and look really great! But, also, the suggestion to go with a theme (if you have one, lol!), i.e., seashells for a beach look.

There is a company called MAKE-IT! that will take a photo and put it on tile. You could use some plain tiles (a color that matches your bathroom) for a majority of the border around the mirror. Pick out some of your favorite photographs, like your kids in the tub, or your beach vacation or just some goofy pics of you and your friends and have them made into tiles by Make-it!(It's mail order). Use them here and there around the mirror, filling in the gaps with plain tiles.

On TV they made a pattern on a plain mirror with masking tape. That would be any pattern you can come up with. Perhaps a plaid look around the edges. Or a mix of thin and wide lines around the edges with a small square in the middle - or tape off triangles on the edge - whatever your creative self can come up with. So the edge of the mirror that was not taped was where your design would be. Then they sprayed it with something that made it look like it was frosted. When it dried, they removed the masking tape and the design was there. But I am stuck - because I do not know what the stuff they sprayed the mirror with was called - but it ended up looking very nice! It really dressed up the mirror.

Hi, I have three low-cost, low-skill solutions (in other words, things that have worked for me!):
1. Take a sheer fabric with some pattern that coordinates to your room, bunch it to make a scarf that can be draped around the top and pinned to drape the sides. At points of interest, you can add flowers or medallions or bows;
2. Mount a shelf above the mirror; use a shelf that is the same width as the top of the mirror; add decorative foliage, candles, etc to the shelf;
3. Put up a shutter on either side of the mirror to create a "window."
Best of luck!

I would surround it with small mirror tiles It would be mirrors on mirrors for an interesting effect. You could continue the theme with mirror tiles on class votive candle holders, P.S. the tiles are about 1 or 2 inch square. You can get them on line or at a craft store.

I like the idea here about using masking tape and you could also use stencils and paint on some great stuff using glass paint, which you can find at any hobby or arts and crafts art store. Think of all the possibilities.....! And with all the choices of glass paint (I use Pebeo Vitra paint) you can follow your color scheme. And if you think you aren't talented enough to do it on your own, invite a creative friend. hmmmmm.... that could be interesting...!
Enjoy!

If your faucets are silver or gold, you could always go by a craft store, find a stamp/pattern you like, and buy silver or gold paint (for mirrors), and stamp the pattern around the perimeter of the mirror.

You can add two light sconces nect to the sides of the mirror...or you can add a small drapery around it. Just make sure it is away from the lighting. you dont want to set it on fire
