According to the Bible, living creatures, or at least humans and other animals, are souls and souls can die. Thus, sea creatues will die in one of the last plagues: "And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea" (Reveleation 16:3 KJV, other tranlations traslate souls as "living things").

And God is the one "In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind" (Job 12:10).

In Genesis 2:7 we have God forming man from the dust and breathing into his nostrils the breath (ruach, "spirit") of life and man becomes a living soul (nephesh hayah). When death happens, the soul decomposes back into dust and the spirit of life, which goes back to God (Ecclesiastes 12:7). This is thesame for both man and animals.

"I also thought, "As for men, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; {Or spirit} man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?" (Ecclesiastes 3:18-21)

I read Intra Muros a glimpse of heaven(here on the Internet) and it says a little girl arrived in heaven w/o anyone there she knew(except Jesus) and she was timid but she saw her cat and it ran to her and then she brightened up. I think God gives us the desires of our heart and I'm believing all 4 of my dogs will be with me there in my mansion.
