i just want to know how many nascar fans watched "ricky bobby"?what did u think about it?
me.........i watched it tonight because my stepson wanted to rent it.i thought the movie sucked and was a disgrace to nascar and its fans(which i am).this movie was so stupid,it was not even funny.what a waste of millions of dollars.this movie makes nascar and the fans look like idiots.am i right or not?
what are ur thoughts?

i have been to nascar races,about 10 of them to be exact.i am a diehard nascar fan.
yes the movie had its funny parts,the guy on the bus,the knife in the leg,to name 2,but in general the movie sucked,and yes i guess it does show how things can be a bit wacky and serious both.
i have an open mind and do not dog anyone that answered the question,i just was curious how other people felt.

I think you're wrong. The movie was hilarious becacuse it made fun of Nascar/Regligious Zealots/ Republicans. Great flick.

I liked the movie...it's over the top funny...but isn't that what Will Ferrell is best at? I also believe that a lot of nascar fans enjoyed it, because at the Brickyard last year, they had a Ricky Bobby trailer there selling all the normal race stuff that you find for the real drivers. Some people that sat around us, were wearing Wonder Bread caps, and they'd scream out 'Go Ricky Bobby!' at various times....make out of that what you will. ;-)

I saw it and thought it was funny but only because of how silly it was and how far it took some of the nascar and auto racing stereotypes, traditions and happenings. I don't think that it gives nascar or their fans a bad name because the plot and situations are so very far beyond any actual happenings and included Will Ferrell, that you would have to be inbred to think it is some sort of documentary about the nascar series and its fans.

I thought the movie was funny .and ok it looks at funnier side of life ..some people take things to serous we all need a real good laugh ever know and then. Yes it show a silly side of nascar and it actually made money at the box office. why don't you go to a race or a day when they qualify you will see most of are not idiots..we just love nascar..its no different when people dress crazy to go to football games

I thought the movie was funny. It did make fun of NASCAR, the fans and drivers, but you have to be able to take a little ribbing. I didn't take any offense and I am a big NASCAR fan also.

I love that movie!! I'm not particularly a nascar fan, but have always been curious. Now I am even more curious and would like to attend an event because it seems like it would be a total blast!!

We rented it last weekend and thought is was pretty good and we are Nascar fans. I don't think it makes us look like idiots, it shows that we can be serious and also have a good time too. That's just my opinion though.

I thought it was funny, not the best.
I think it was obvious that they were over exagerating things, it was a Will Farrel movie after all.
Also, no offense intended, but if you want to disprove stereotypes of NASCAR fans being illiterate/idiots, you might try a little harder to use somewhat decent grammar and capitalize words on occassion. You certainly weren't disproving their point in your question.

I'm not a huge Nascar fan, but I don't knock it, either. I thought the movie was funny, it's typical Will Ferrell....I don't think it was insulting...I don't think it was meant to be insulting.
