God does a lot than people know about. Open yourself spiritually feel and see the amount of ways God communicates, spiritual way mostly, either feel his presence, his words, when things happen, start clicking..... lets say as if someone is protecting you for example.... you may not even realize it at first till you reflect back on everything, and you start figuring how could I survive all them events.
God is at work, but since we have free will, God doesn't infringe, unless you are willing to allow him to work in your life, God sends angels and spirits all the time to help in prayers, although they can't infringe, but, they'll hint.

I assume you are some sort of Deist, believing in an impersonal supreme deity.
Either you believe God is a part of everything or nothing and there is a little I can do to change your beliefs except perhaps pose the question, "If God does nothing, how do miracles happen?"

He is But we all have Karma, (reaction to our past actions) One has to understand karma and reincarnation to understand Gods all loving merciful nature. He told us what to do and what not to do but we don't listen. If your father told you not to touch fire and you did do you think you will not get burns. The laws of nature are stringent and God tells us what to do. Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada and know the laws so you don't get burns. The thing is people don't know that supporting slaughterhouses by eating meat is sinful and one gets bad karma for that. Krishna says in the Gita "As long as their is animal slaughter there will be war and famine. The karma must come around some way or another from all that killing.

I don't understand your question, because God does a lot in my life. I remember that as a kid, sitting in church, I used to wonder why God never seemed to do any of the cool stuff that He used to do way back in the Bible days. Are you really trying to have a closer relationship with Him or are you a "Sunday / Monday Christian?" --- You know, ...going to church on Sunday & then just doing whatever you want to on Monday (through Saturday).... I've been both, and "nothing seemed to happen from God, that I could tell, when I was a "Sunday / Monday christian." Also, I eventually got to the point where I knew that I didn't even know whether God existed or not. -- Yeah, I said I was a christian & grew up that way, but I realized that I honestly no longer knew, in my heart, that God was real. I got real honest with myself about that, thought about what ramifications there may be if I actually knew God to be real ( especially if I were not willing toward God ) and then prayed that if God were really real & like the God in the Bible, that He would cause me to know it for sure, cause I was willing to live real close to Him, like the people who lived close to God in Bible days.
God saw my honesty & helped me know, for sure, not just philosophy or head games. Events started taking place in my life, but I didn't realize what was actually happening at the time. Over time, though, lots of things happened, and I so knew that God was real that I read the Bible hungrily. Over time, faith during prayer can grow as a person learns to yield to God better, understands more about God's nature, likes & dislikes and also learns more about how God works in people's lives. Confidence in the will of God ...& patience, coupled with faith that God gives you, can lead to more answers to prayer. When you pray & see answers to prayer, that has a snowball effect, too. Also, try not to box God in with your own "conditions" & specifications. Many times, God may answer a prayer quite legitimately in some way we had never even imagined He would... & possibly in a different timing than we'd like. Remember, you aren't the only one on earth praying. Many people pray to God, and many lives are often interconnected/interrelated. Sometimes people in close proximity need things that are seemingly opposite : one prays for rain & another prays for it to stop raining. Why? What is the REAL need? Whose problem most necessitates which answer? If that situation exists, can the other problem be solved in another way? Etc.!! --- See, as in the movie, BRUCE ALMIGHTY, God has a lot on His plate, and if you try to force His hand contrary to that, or too precisely in all the details, how much actual faith/confidence will He give you that He will do just as you "tell" Him to? Remember, GOD is actually God : we aren't. When you get deeper in line with HIS plan & desires, you'll be noticing that HE actually does quite a lot, and that can be really cool !!

What? Don't you remember free will? We decide for ourselves, He promise this to as long ago, so it all depend on us what we want to do. He is offering us Eternal Life, or we can choose the other way, wish I don't recommend you; He also left as a beautiful letter of love (Bible) giving us advises in how to live to the fullest and happy, but is all up to us what we choose. This doesn't mean we will not have hardships.
We can't forget that this is not where we belong, we're just here to learn and go back home, but He gives us the choice where to go. To me, that's Awesome!
Just think if He did everything, do you think we will live the way we're living? Heck no! we wouldn't need to be here, we would of stay home.
: o )

God does do things for those who believe:
He brings hope
He gives you someone to talk to
He forgives your deepest darkest sins
He brings light
He does bring darkness, but it's for a reason
God can do anything if you believe but does nothing if you dont
Either way is fine, but believing doesnt always mean seeing, its in your heart

In Him (Jesus) all things hold together (consist, have their being).
You know the power of the atoms the make up molecules, etc. (including the solar systems and galaxies).
What is the source of the power that holds the atom together, and the universe together.
It is Jesus Christ Who is the Power that holds everything together.
It is humanity that tries to destroy everything.

Maybe you should read C.S. Lewis and he could better answer your question.
C.S. Lewis was an athiest who discovered the beauty of the Christian religion.
"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.
C. S. Lewis "
