It will help in aiding with it but they only way to get rid of it is to brush twice a day and floss atleast once a day. The bacteria inbetween the teeth need to be disturbed and that's what the floss does. It hardens into plaque in 24 hrs. Also using a tounge scrapper. Brushing is okay if that's what you have but it's kinda like mashing something into the carpet. Also the best thing is maintance...Getting your teeth cleaned every 6 months is soooo very important.....So take his had and show him or tell him to go to the Dentist

Think about this....

If your boyfriend's mouth looked like this (see link)

would the Chlorhexidine Gluconate Oral rinse eliminate his bad breath???

The answer is no. In order to eliminate bad breath he must eliminate the source.

Consider this analogy:
If a dog pooped in your living room, how would you eliminate the smell?
A. Pour Chlorhexidine Gluconate Oral Rinse on it.
B. Remove the poo, put it in the trash outside and wash the floor.

Your boyfriend needs to brush and floss to remove the bacteria that is releasing toxins and foul smelling odour. Chlorhexidine Gluconate Oral Rinse can be used to help the gums heal and recover from the bacterial invasion. It is mandatory to remove the bacteria in addition to rinsing. If you don't, it's like leaving a cut full of dirt and grime and just putting a little antibacterial cream on it. The cut will heal better if you clean (remove) the dirt and grime AND put antibacterial cream on it.

Cleaning the tongue is important too.

If he hasn't been to a dentist in a long time he will need a professional cleaning to remove all the calculus (tartar) in order to improve his oral health. If he has a cavity, that can be trapping food junks and bacteria to create a stench in his mouth.

If his breath smells like poo, that is a classic smell of poor oral health. Smells from garlic, onions and other food is different.

Ahhh just kiss 'em anyway. If its really that bad then well let him know in a nice way and he'll most likely take it upon himself to fix the problem. And as far as that stuff goes sure but I could be wrong.

Maybe that in combination with brushing his tongue daily. If both of those things don't help, it could have a more serious condition and should see a doctor.
