whats the difference between xp pro and 64bit of windows? is there any hardware requirements for 64 bit? what are the benefits of having 64bit?

well .. Windows XP Professional x64 Edition needs 64-bit CPU
in order to get benefit of the advantages of that CPU

most of our PC's have 32-Bit Processor (CPU)
so if you use windows 64 on a platform of 32-bit CPU .. you will fined no difference in performance

when say , 32-bit CPU that means this CPU can manipulate 32 bit of data per cycle

the same with 64-bit CPU : means this CPU can manipulate 64 bit of data per cycle

I don't know about hardware requirements but the difference between XP Pro and 64 bit Windows is the former uses 32 bit drivers and the latter 64 bit. At the moment even though 64 bit applications and devices can do more than their 32 bit counterparts there is little support in the form of drivers for these devices and therefore until that changes there doesn't yet seem much reason to change.
