I have a guy friend who I thought was my secret pal, he used to watch me a lot, and be goofy around me. I would get nervous and try to avoid him out of fear I guess of the unknown. But, I got where I like him a lot but nothing never came of it. We kind of had a disagreement abou how things were taken and were not speaking for a while. I would try to get over it by being nice to him but really don't want much to do with him now but he has been trying to be a friend to me. Did I read too much into what might have been friendly gestures by him just as a friend? Should I try to be a friend to him?

You really answered your own question. The two of you do not belong in a romantic relationship together, but there is no reason why you two can't remain just friend's.Just sit down and talk to him so you both have the same understanding.

if you don't wana be friends , don't. i want to tell you something because you used the words " secret pal." i use to have a girl friend that was like that. something happened and we stopped talking to each other. i will only say this on the net, but i miss her so much. other girls that remind me of her all the time and i think of her all the time. she was so goofy and sincere. i wish she was my buddy again. if it was a special reltionship, you should do anything to get it back, but i realize that sometimes you can't have it back.

Honey, Your guy friend may have wanted you as a friend and you read to much in it. Maybe he was scared of a commitment and with you pushing, it scared him. Now he may think differently about you. Sit down and talk to him and ask questions. But, yes, be his friend. You know that some relationships start out of friendships.

If he watches you alot and is "goofy" around you as you put it , he's probably shy but into you...If all you want is a friendship - just tell it like it is and if he is mature enough , he'll appreciate your honesty and you can move on if all you want is to be friends...
You can't have enough friends in this CRAZY world....

Good Luck to you !!!
