Get drunk. Sorry. I have been here too long, I am starting to talk like a troll. Why do you want an out of body experience? Your mind is made to protect you in the event of serious trauma and that is when you will have such an experience. If you are talking about an experience in which you appear to be one with God that is called a mystical experience.

Some people naturally have them, it's to do with if your aura, it's larger than the normal size, when relaxed, usually asleep, while the body is still, and asleep, your aura lifts up and your soul floats up out of you, you can see yourself asleep, some souls know how to travel to places. Usually the larger aura, has some to do with having a compassionate heart.
Or if your in the hospital, and your put under, this can happen that way too.

If you have ever flown in your sleep, you most likely had an out of body experience. You leave your body and fly somewhere in your sleep when you dream you are flying. You can do this on your own free will if you say to yourself you want to fly while you are dreaming before you go to sleep.

There are a lot of books out there on the subject. Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce is something I own. Ive never had an OBE, but it was a good read none-the-less.

Do a simple google search on it.

Best of luck.

Don't. There are two worlds. The living world and the Otherworld. When you pass into an OBE, you're entering the Otherworld and not all spirits are nice. You may encounter something there that you don't want to.
