Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:28 KJV HOLY BIBLE

Honestly, I don't think any God worth worshiping would care if I got a picture of something cool on my body. God gave you a body to respect, but also gave you free will as to what to do with it. You're not going to go to hell if you take a freedom with adding a neat marking to your body. I don't see God being all:

"OMG! You got a tatoo! It's the 9th ring of hell for you!"

Besides, if you want to think about it, tribes back in the day used to get tatoos all the time. I don't think God punished all those people that got tribal tatoos.

Leviticus 19:28
" 'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD"

YES I do think Tattoos are against Gods word.
I like them but I never got 1 because of that verse.

It's debatable. The only place you'll find that one should not have tattoos will be in the Old Testament Law. While we are no longer under the Law (except the Moral Law of God), there are many things in there that gives us an idea of what God likes and dislikes. Tattoos just happens to be something that He dislikes. So, if you want to show your appreciation for the payment of your sin, I would lean against not getting one.

Probably, except for the stigmata, but those are marks from God.

Leviticus 19:28
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

Galatians 6:17
From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

No, there are no passages that even speak of tattoos at all. The closest anyone could say is "your body is a temple". But unless you go to a tattoo artist who uses dirty equipment, you are not risking defiling your temple. Unless your tattoo says "God is dumb" or "Satan rocks" or something like that!!

Well I stand completely corrected! Leviticus 19:28 DOES say that. I had no idea! Next time I'll research it before I start typing like the idiot I am. :o)

I have 2 tattoos and I think it may be a sin. I know that it won't keep me from going to heaven though. I will have a new body

Yes because you are supposed to treat your body as though it was the temple of God!
