I would take you bird to the vet immidiatly. A bird needs to have a balanced healthy diet or else they can become sick, and have serious health problems. Birds are very delicate and require alot of care. One of my cocktiels was overweight and develped a fatal liver condition. She too had diahrrea, and became very tired. She ate too much, and was taking in too much fatty bird seed. I would not leave his food in his cage all of the time, and offer a variety of fruits and veggies. It is also important that your birds get enought excersize. Let him out and fly around, or have him perch on your shoulder. (just make sure that all of your windows and doors are closed)
If your bird is alone in his cage, I suggest getting a freind for him. Having a companion will make such a huge difference, and make him so happy.
This is just one possiblity of what your bird could be dealing with. But if you got this bird from a pet store or a breeder, he might have a disease. Since birds are such delicate creatures,he could have easily cought something. I hope your little guy gets better! Best of luck

Birds have a tendency to cover their ailments till they are rather unwell. Sitting at the backside of the cage, and no longer appearing ordinary is not a well signal. I'd take him to the vet if you'll asap, I would not wait. Like I mentioned, they conceal their ailments. They'll run a few exams on him, and expectantly he will be pleasant. Yes, a few illnesses will also be contagious. Tell the vet you actually have a cockatiel in a cage subsequent to him. If it is some thing contagious, he will most commonly have you ever carry within the cockatiel as good. Good success!

He's sickly. If he's a young bird he may have been removed from the parents too early and isn't eating on his own. If this is the case you can always get baby bird formula from your local pet store.
Until you can get your bird to a vet I would suggest the following;
1) Since your bird is sitting at the bottom of its cage all fluffed up, find a decent sized box and put a heating pad in there to help keep him warm. Put it on the lowest setting and place a dish towel on the pad to keep the bird from burning his feet.
2) Use an eye dropper and squirt some Pedialyte down his throat. That will bring up his electrolytes.
3) If his stool is dark or blackish in color, that's blood and he may have some internal problems. Keep him as still and quiet as possible.

He is definately sick. When humans have diahrrea don't they see a doctor??? Same thing with this bird. Parakeets who sit at the bottom of the cage are stressed out and they aren't feeling well. Sometimes they fluff up because they're cold. You have to get this poor little bird to vet as soon as possible!!!!!!!!

Birds have a tendency to hide their illnesses except they are quite unwell. Sitting on the backside of the cage, and not appearing usual is not a good signal. I'd take him to the vet if that you could asap, i wouldn't wait. Like I mentioned, they conceal their illnesses. They will run some tests on him, and confidently he'll be pleasant. Sure, some illnesses can be contagious. Tell the vet you actually have a cockatiel in a cage next to him. If it can be something contagious, he'll mostly have you bring in the cockatiel as well. Good success!

Your bird is ILL and needs to be taken to an avian vet. The biggest tipoff here is "fluffy and sitting on the bottom of his cage". Birds try to hide their illness so by the time you notice something is wrong it often is too late to save the animal. I cannot overemphasise that you should get it to an avian vet ASAP.

You're bird is VERY sick - get to a vet now. The bottom of the cage is the last place the bird goes unless it's very sick.

your bird is sick, cover his cage with a towel and hang a 40 watt light bulb in the top of the cage , he is so weak he can't hold on to the perch make sure he has water close, even use a eyedropper to try and give him water, heat will slow down body heat loss
