Volunteer in a soup kitchen or out in the cold program that feeds homeless people.
Collect coats, scarves , mittens and give them to an agency who will distribute them to people who are homeless or on low income, so they can be warm when it gets cold .
Contribute to your church, mosque, temple food programs or collect food for the food bank , not just at holiday time but throughout the year.
Rather than say nasty things to a homeless person as you pass by, smile , say something kind, give them some spare change or money. Buy them a meal and bring it to them. Distribute sandwhiches and cocoa on cold nights.
Learn about social justice issues and join anti-poverty programs. Write informed letters to the editor of your local newspaper about homelessness.

That's a ruff question. A lot of homeless people are on drugs. And there are all kinds of programs for them. But they don't want it. A drug problem is a sickness. But that don't mean they don't have the right to eat or have warm cloths. And there are homeless people because they lost there jobs, there homes etc... and there the ones you need to help more. There are a lot of family like that. Who are not taking drugs or have a achol who has a hardship. You can go to the missions and talk to the counselors and ask where there is a family who not on drugs or acholl and are trying to get out of there saturation. I believe helping a family one at a time. When you donate lots of money that's good too because that's what keeps mission doors open and programs going but to take a family under your wing that's helpful.I don't mean let them move in your home. I mean take the time out of your busy life and help them get a job. Buy them there own cloths, shoes, maybe help them get there own place real help. There's a family who would be very thankful for that kind of help.

In many communities, the Salvation Army has direct programs of feeding and housing. Usually there are churches who also provide meals and occasionally free clothing.
Socks are a continual need for the homeless. Calling cards are helpful gifts.

Gather them, meet their basic needs like food, warmth, clothing, water. Train them in a skill and give them support to get a job and living quarters (even if they're dormitories). Once they are steady on their feet, they can make small monthly contributions to "pay back" for the training and resources they received. The money can go back into the pool that continues to provide such help to the homeless.

Not only food and money but a place where someone cares! If possible provide them with shelter and look for ways by which they can earn a living and regain self respect etc.

i seen this eosode on tyra and they said most people out there would actually use the money you give them to buy some food and stuff to keep clean. skip giving them money how about giving them some food that they can eat wenever they want . crackers, bread, fruits, something sweet, waters ,etc. stuuf they can actually use in there situation. or yo can help buy giving them toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, comb, blanket, small towls,big towels, and probably a sturday bag so they can hold the other things .

give dem money..or more like food n shelter cze if u only give them money then we dont know wat they would do wid it...but if u give them food or shelter or watever...at least we knw that it would come in good use and they wont use the money to buy drugs n go high wid it ...cze u know u really cannot trust beggers..or the homeless...so instead of money give them food which they really need or shelter which is important in this winter or else they will freeze their asses in the cold

Help them by getting them help whether it be for drugs ,alcohol or helping them get a job and a place to live.
