Canada is extracting oil from the tar sands of Alberta , up north in Fort McMurray
CNN did a report a while back and said that there was enough oil in the tar sands to supply America for 100 years.

I thought everyone knew that. I guess the liberal press is suppressing that knowledge from the uninformed masses. You guys need to quit getting all your news from ET.
They're also talking about all the shale oil in Colorado as well as Canada. It's expensive to extract, but if oil from foreign sources gets too expensive, shale oil will be feasible.
I read that the amount of oil they can extract from shale rock in Colorado alone is more than all of the oil in Saudi Arabia.
If Iran tries to put the squeeze on us, we should start ramping up the production in the USA and Canada. Being self sufficient is a great way to win the war on terror.
This planet is so full of oil, it would take a million years to use it all up and since it's self producing we can't really run out.

For God's sake, we get most of our imported oil from Canada NOW!!!!!! Much of the rest comes from Mexico and Venezuela. Only a very, very, very small amount comes from the Middle East.
Canada has TRILLIONS of barrels of oil locked up in tar sands and shale.

I'm not surprised. I am surprised that we haven't really come up with an amazing alternative to oil yet. Just what the beauttiful Canadian landscape needs......
It seems like it is time to get serious about this issue, this big oil issue has motivated enough problems.

Canada is conserving its own oil for future use while in Iraq, the US had already control the supply of oil.

yeah, but theres more oil in Saudi Arabia than Cananda and everything else combinaed. theyre sitting on 50% of the earths resources.
