it is probably because the file cannot be located. if you are streaming music, it's probably because the file is no longer there (website might have been taken down or the file might have been deleted). if you are trying to play music of itunes, just locate the file and it will be solved.

you are using itunes and if you double click on a song and it wont play and an exclimation mark shows up its because either you moved the file or the folder the file was in. to listen to the songs again you must find the files and drag them back into your itunes. the songs with exclamation marks can then be removed because they can not be listened to.

I had that happen to me too...If you are using WMP go to to the ADD button with the plus sign, and Add Files By Searching Computer. For some reason the player just lost the files, but they were saved on my computer. So once I re-added them they came right back and I haven't had a problem since..

is your sound working other than music. like within windows and games and other applications. if so your sound card may be dead
