Its been a month since my ex had broken up with me. he had called me on the phone and said that he thought that it was a good idea to stop seeing each other. i was in shock so all i said was 'okay'. a few days later i found out that he had been on a date with another girl. They act like they are in a relationship and he calls her 'babe', but it's not official.
a few days ago he had told me that he missed me and that sometimes he thinks that he made the worst mistake that he can't take back. We have been talking more and when we hug, he hugs me as though he's scared to let me go. im not sure what his intentions are.! im completely confused and not sure whether to pursue him or run far away.

Well if you want to be the one on the side that he needs in case he can't get none from his gf sure pursue him, but if not tell him where to go. Because he knows that you still like him alot and he will take advantage of that. Do a little test to find out. WHy not tell him if you miss me so much why don't you break up with your gf and stay with me? and see what he says, I can tell you right now he will tell you well I just don't want to hurt her feelings right now since we just started seeing her and blah, blah, blah. But it is up to you so good luck and if you need to talk e-mail me or IM me anytime

O dear! don't be caught in an emotional trap like many other women I hear suffer from a similar syndrome.
Most men suffer from emotional rebounding whereby they search for same kind of closeness, honesty and whatever you guys shared with the new girl in his life. To be precise he tries to fill in the emotional vacuum but most often than not fails miserably and that's when he tends to repent and want to come back into your life.
As far as hugging you and not letting you go, all I can say is yes he suffers from insecurity and so way too scared to lose a jewel like you forever which now atleast he has access to.
Coming to the question you asked, I suggest you not pursuing the man who may have dumped you once for he may not be worth trusting again and is also not conducive for one's self respect. But yes, I too suggest you don't dump him by running away from him as he is emotionally quite vulnerable and you would never love to see your once a time love feel so lost and helpless.
Perhaps you could send him a hug e-card from http://www.123greetings.com/events/hug_day/ on and oft just to assure him that you are there for him whenever he needs you.

He probably knows after talking with you that he could get you back if he wanted to but the thing is he sure didn't take his time after breaking up with you to find another girlfriend. I'd be thinking about that. Plus the fact he broke up with you over the phone. How brave of him ;o( I'd just learn by this and not make the second mistake with another. Even if he wants you back would you really be able to trust him again. Think about it ok? Good luck ;o)

look that happened to me too but i decided that the best thing to do was to not see him no more because if he really likes you as he says he wouldnt be with someone else girl plese dont listen to him he just wants to play with you really!

i think that he's just unhappy and hoping to get away from the other girl. but he cheated on you and you can't trust him. so just stay friends for now.
