So far the best for you would be the Ford Expedition, it has three rows of seats ALOT of room and right now they are having a special to get rid of the 06 and where we live its 6,000 off the total price which starts at 37,000 plus what they will take off which we got down to 27,000 and for a new suv thats really good, also they were doing no intrest for 60 months and that to me seems like the best because you can pay more on your payment every month and lower the priciple so you can pay it off sooner. I think that is the best way to go, but of course my husband wanted the INFINITI XQ56 so we got it which is very nice but over priced for the 13 mpg tank, oh also the expedition gas great gas milage to be so large. I hope I helped a little.

If you are looking into used vehicles, the Chevy Astro AWD is great. We have two, each with over 200,000miles each. The only problem we had was with the fuel pumps needing replaced. With 6 people, I would not recommend the Durango as it does not have the room to move around and is pretty tight for even 5 people. New vehicle? What you can afford is the limiting factor. I still lean towards a van-type AWD vehicle (Honda/Nissan/Chrysler) just for the ease of getting kids in and out, plus groceries and luggage. The sliding doors, especially if they are on both sides are very easy to access kids and stuff. Then I lean towards a Chevy Suburban or Tahoe. I am a soccer coach, and I tend to haul 6 players to and from games, with equipment. It gets 16-17mpg city, and I get 21 hiway.

I would have to say the Chevy Tahoe. I have 3 children and 2 big dogs. I have owned a Blazer, and a mini van. I definetly like my Tahoe the best. It automatically shifts cylinders. If I'm going under 55 it only runs on 4 so you can imagine the gas i save. Also it balances it's weight so it makes it harder to flip over. It's a 4 wheel drive. Safety is definetly a plus when you have kids. It's also very spacious. It seats 9. Hope this helps.

we have a family of 6 also and we have a FORD MAVERICK SUV the rebadges UK version of a NISSAN TERRANO, it has 7 seat capacity and is a 2.7 turbo diesel vehicle, it gives great fuel economy fae in excess of mos other SUV's on the road today, the rear seat comes right out when necessary giving huge trunk space, with the middle passenger seats folding flat or upright, so its not only a good family vehicle its a spacious work vehicle too, it will give 23 MPG in town usage rising to 32.5MPG on long drives, if its available in the US i would highly recommend it to you, but go for the long wheel base 7 seat version, happy motoring. p.s. i dont think its a current model so you may have to ask if there is any stock of this vehicle left.
