Tough question!!!!! As your kids are a bit older and can easily complain and reject what is put in front of them maybe a good place to start would be to have them help you plan meals, then help with the shopping so they can have hands on experience of the vegies you want them to eat then get them to help prepare and cook it. It could take a while but I think if you get them involved and just keep perservering with them they will eventually come around - also under no circumstances do you offer them something else to eat or bargain with them if they refuse what you put in front of them. If you give in once you make it hard for yourself to say no the next time, besides if they are really hungry they will eat anything. I tell my kids that my kitchen isn't a restraunt and that this is it - eat it now or face it for breakfast!!! Good luck with your boys!

When children are first introduced to new foods it takes an average of 10 times for that child to learn the new flavor and accept it. Using that theory as my kids aged and began eating whole foods ; I introduced each veggie repeatedly and gave them only a teaspoon or a few of each. They were told to eat the veggie. In time they came to like vegetables.
However, for brussel sprouts I still have to put sugar in the water while cooking. It takes out the bitterness.
Green beans are flavored with bacon usually.
For spinich I use a liquid smoke and salt.
For collard greens ; I make them spicy
Carrots are usually cooked with a bit of sugar or candied.
Broccoli is usually raw w/ranch or cooked w/oriental flavors or cheese.
I won't say they like all vegetables however. I have 2 who will eat mushrooms anyway you make it and one who will refuse. All won't eat corn. They will eat celery, sweet peas, candules, tomatoes but only if they are fried green. They will also eat onion but only if it's minced.
There are a few others they eat as well so I don't argue with them when they say they really don't like a particular veggie like eggplant.
Just keep offering it to them and don't make an issue of it. As they grow their tastes will change. The truth is that I don't even like many vegetables.

I'm so glad I don't have that problem with my daughter. Although, I hate veggies! I can not eat them no matter what I put on them even though as an adult I know how important they are. Some ways I have included them in my diet are by adding them to recipes. I put carrots, zucchini, or pumpkin in muffins. I puree almost any veggies and add them to sauces, making sure not to put very strong flavored ones (like broccoli) in light tasting sauces. My favorite recipe is adding pureed veggies to my meatloaf. There is no difference in the taste and tends to make it even more moist. Hope this helps!

We use a combination of things, Cheese sauce works some times. If not we try to brib him with somthing he likes. For example the other night we had shrimp and broccli for every broccoli he ate he got 3 shrimp. he ened up eating 15 shrimp so that was pretty much broccli. If all eles fails we make him sit till he eats it, or save it untill befor his bed time snack if he wants his snack which he always does he will eat his veggies.

I have never had trouble getting my kids to eat their veggies. I can't figure out why everyone else does. I think maybe because I have always just included them in their diet. I don't let my kids pick and choose what they will eat each day, I am not running a restaurant. That doesen't mean that I make them eat things they don't like. My oldest hates iceburg lettuce, so I don't make her eat that, and my youngest hates carrots, but they eat almost any other vegetable I serve including brussels sprouts and cabbage and asparagus.

Well I tried all the obvious things, and none worked......I use my magic bullet, puree them and add to pasta sauce! Veggies are good but as long as they are getting lots of fruit Iw ouldn't worry too much. If fruit is a problem try fat free cool whip, add a package of crystal lite (strawberry/banana is the fav here) and they will dip dip dip and ask for more fruit!
You can also try thigns like V8 if they won't eat em maybe they will drink them........Good LUCK

I don't know if this will work for you but I've had some success using the following simple bargaining scheme -
When then .
In the case of dinner I use -
When you've eaten all your vegies then you can have desert/TV.

Putting cheese sauce or ranch dressing on top of the vegetables would probably work.
