Yes, but you're expected to use the money for expenses related to school such at books & supplies, commuting, and room & board. The money can go faster than you expect, too. So if your campus offers an on-campus funds system (where you can use your student ID to pull money from that account when paying for things on campus), I'd suggest putting the refund into that account to cover any unexpected or ongoing school expenses that come up such as needing more pens, pencils, test booklets, etc.

I recieved the Pell Grant and there is nothing to pay back...the grant money you get is free money....you can use the grant money to payback any loans you might have to take out but all the money is free money.

If you're talking about paying for your schooling then yes, whatever amount you have left is yours 2 keep. (one good thing about being poor and going to college)

Yes, you do. However, if your education expenses are less than the amount of the grant they will give you less money in the next grant. If you reduce the number of courses you take so that you can have some money left over, and you get caught, you can be prosecuted for fraud.

Well when I had it many years ago, they take out the tuition first and then give you the rest in a check, but it was barely enough to buy books and other things you would need for school.
